Mossberg Silver Reserve 28GA 75487 Overview
The Mossberg International Silver Reserve is an affordable over-and-under that brings features usually found on more expensive double guns. Chrome-lined bores, dual locking lugs, and a vent rib barrel make it a durable choice for upland hunting, waterfowl, and clays.
Design and Features
Silver Reserve models include a set of choke tubes, shell extractors, and a single selective trigger. Eventide versions use tough synthetic stocks and finishes for hard use in the field, while standard models wear satin black walnut and a silver receiver with logo engraving.
Handling in the Field
Mossberg shotguns are built to be dependable year after year with simple maintenance. This model mounts naturally and swings smoothly, and it is ready for the field, range, or home defense right out of the box.
Action and Trigger
The break action opens smoothly, and the single selective trigger lets you choose which barrel fires first. Always check both chambers before closing the action.
Sights and Optics
Sights: Front Fiber Optic. Pattern your load and choke combination before hunting.
The 28 Gauge Cartridge
The 28 Gauge is a light, classic upland chambering prized for its soft recoil.
Setup and Accessories
Set your shotgun up for its job: hunters will want a sling and a few choke tubes, clay shooters may add a recoil pad, and a home-defense setup benefits from a weapon light. Pattern every load and choke combination you plan to use.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the shotgun and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the action and choke threads. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
