Description
The Mossberg Patriot Bantam 350 Legend 20 Inch is a rifle chambered in 350 Legend with a 20-inch barrel and a 4+1 capacity. It comes with a matte blue barrel finish, a synthetic (muddy girl wild) stock and weaver style bases sights.
Mossberg Patriot Bantam 350 Legend 20 Inch Overview
The Patriot is Mossberg’s bolt-action hunting rifle line, built to offer features usually found on more expensive rifles: a fluted bolt, a spiral-fluted or button-rifled barrel, the adjustable Lightning Bolt Action (LBA) trigger, and a detachable box magazine. It is a dependable, accurate rifle at a price that leaves money for good glass and ammunition.
Design and Features
The LBA trigger is user adjustable from roughly 2 to 7 pounds and breaks cleanly, and the bolt has dual opposing lugs and a fluted body for smooth cycling. The receiver is drilled and tapped (many versions ship with a Picatinny rail), and the detachable magazine makes loading and unloading quick and safe. This configuration has a matte blue barrel finish, a synthetic (muddy girl wild) stock, and weaver style bases sights.
Handling in the Field
Patriot rifles are light enough to carry all day and point naturally. Synthetic stocks shrug off weather, and the recoil pad keeps magnum and straight-wall cartridges comfortable. It is a practical choice for a first deer rifle or a no-nonsense truck gun.
Action and Trigger
The bolt cycles with a 90-degree lift and a plunger-style ejector. The two-position tang safety is easy to reach, and the LBA trigger has a blade safety and a crisp, adjustable break.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 350 Legend Cartridge
The 350 Legend is a straight-wall cartridge built for deer hunting in states that restrict bottlenecked rifle cartridges. It has mild recoil and plenty of energy at typical whitetail ranges.
Setup and Accessories
Start with a quality optic and solid rings or a mount, then add a sling for carrying and a bipod or shooting bag for steady rests. Test a few loads for accuracy and settle on the one your rifle likes best. A hard case protects your investment on the way to the range or the field.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the rifle and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the bolt face and chamber. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
Product Notes
Before the season, zero the rifle with the exact load you plan to hunt with, then confirm the zero at a couple of distances so you know your holdovers. Keep a record of the scope settings and the load, and recheck zero after any knock or long trip. Practice from field positions such as sitting and kneeling, not just from the bench.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
