Description
The Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag Turkey 12GA is a shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge with a 20-inch barrel and a 5+1 capacity. Mossberg lists this model (SKU 62230) with mossy oak – greenleaf barrel finish, synthetic (mossy oak greenleaf) stock, 3.5″ chamber.
Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag Turkey 12GA Overview
The 835 Ulti-Mag was the world’s first 3-1/2 inch pump-action shotgun, built for hardcore turkey and waterfowl hunters. Its overbored barrel with 10 gauge dimensions reduces pellet deformation for tighter, more uniform patterns.
Design and Features
It has an ambidextrous safety, dual extractors, and twin action bars, and turkey models are equipped for close, precise shots.
Handling in the Field
Mossberg shotguns are built to be dependable year after year with simple maintenance. This model mounts naturally and swings smoothly, and it is ready for the field, range, or home defense right out of the box.
Action and Trigger
The pump action is fast and reliable with nearly any load. Rack the forend fully for each shot, and use the top-mounted safety, which works for left and right-handed shooters.
Sights and Optics
Sights: Front FO; Holosun Mirco Dot. Pattern your load and choke combination before hunting.
The 12 Gauge Cartridge
The 12 Gauge is the most versatile shotgun chambering, with loads for everything from clays and birds to buckshot and slugs.
Setup and Accessories
Set your shotgun up for its job: hunters will want a sling and a few choke tubes, clay shooters may add a recoil pad, and a home-defense setup benefits from a weapon light. Pattern every load and choke combination you plan to use.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the shotgun and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the action and choke threads. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
