Description
The Magnum Research XIX Component System is a complete Desert Eagle Mark XIX pistol with everything needed to shoot three magnum calibers. It ships set up in 357 Magnum with 6 inch barrels in 44 Magnum and 50 AE, the extra bolt assembly, a magazine for each caliber and a fitted case, all finished in Burnt Bronze Cerakote.

Magnum Research XIX Component System Overview
Magnum Research model DEXIX6BB is a gas-operated, rotating-bolt single action pistol with fixed combat sights, an ambidextrous safety and a full-length accessory rail. Capacity is 9+1 in 357 Magnum, 8+1 in 44 Magnum and 7+1 in 50 AE, and the trigger breaks around 4 pounds. Lipsey’s lists the overall length at 10.75 inches and the weight at 3 lbs 11 oz to 3 lbs 13 oz, while Magnum Research lists 4 lbs 6 oz to 4 lbs 9 oz; the difference likely reflects the barrel fitted.
How Caliber Changes Work
Barrel swaps need no tools and follow the takedown steps in the manual. When moving between 357 and the larger 44 or 50 cases you also swap the bolt assembly and magazine. The 44 Magnum and 50 AE share a bolt face. Read the manual carefully and practice with an unloaded gun, and never mix magazines between calibers.

Burnt Bronze Finish
The Burnt Bronze Cerakote on the slide, frame and barrels is tough and resists corrosion, and it gives the big pistol a distinctive look. All three barrels are finished to match, so the gun looks right no matter which caliber you install.
Shooting a Desert Eagle
The gas system and weight make recoil manageable even in 50 AE, but muzzle blast is severe, especially indoors. The Desert Eagle needs full-power, jacketed ammunition to cycle reliably; lead bullets foul the gas port, and light target loads can cause short-stroking. Keep a firm, high grip, since a limp wrist will cause malfunctions.

Cost of Feeding It
357 Magnum is easy to find, but 44 Magnum costs more and 50 AE is expensive and sometimes scarce. Many owners shoot 357 most of the time and save 50 AE for special range days. Spare magazines are caliber specific.
Practical Notes
This is a range and collector piece rather than a carry gun. Holsters are large, and the pistol needs a sturdy belt. Made in Pillager, Minnesota, the Mark XIX has been in production for decades, and Magnum Research supports it with parts and service.
State Laws and Ownership
The Desert Eagle is not on the California roster and is restricted in some states with handgun approval lists such as Massachusetts. Magazine capacity of nine rounds or fewer is legal nearly everywhere. Confirm your state and city allow the transfer before ordering.
