Description
The MAC 1014 Turkish Walnut 12 Gauge shotgun from Military Armament Corp (MAC) is a gas-operated semi-auto with an 18.5 inch barrel, a 3 inch chamber, a 5-round tube and Turkish walnut furniture on a black anodized receiver. It brings the look and layout of a modern tactical shotgun together with classic wood.

MAC 1014 Turkish Walnut 12 Gauge Overview
MAC shotguns are made in Turkey and imported by SDS Arms. The 1014 uses a short-stroke dual-piston gas system, in the style of the Benelli M4, with the pistons acting directly on the bolt. The barrel is chrome lined and threaded for Beretta/Benelli Mobil chokes, and three flush tubes are included. Sights are a windage- and elevation-adjustable ghost ring rear with a winged front post, and a Picatinny rail sits on the receiver.
Dual-Piston Gas System
Gas operation softens recoil compared with inertia guns and tends to cycle a wide range of loads. American Rifleman reported no malfunctions in its break-in testing with varied loads. As with any gas gun, the pistons and gas ports need periodic cleaning, especially after heavy use with dirty target loads.

Walnut Furniture
The Wood model uses a straight-grip Turkish walnut stock and forend rather than a pistol grip. It points naturally and looks at home in a farmhouse or truck. Walnut needs a little more care than polymer in wet weather; a coat of oil now and then keeps it in good shape.
Sights, Rail and Chokes
The ghost ring is fast at close range and precise enough for slugs. The receiver rail accepts a red dot. The included chokes run tighter than their notch counts suggest, so pattern your buckshot at the distances you expect before choosing one.

Weight and Handling
At close to 8 pounds, the 1014 is heavier than the inertia-driven MAC 2, and that weight helps tame heavy buckshot and slugs. Reviewers found the trigger heavy, near 8 pounds, with smooth creep and a short reset.
Value and Support
The 1014 offers M4-style features for a fraction of the price. Resale value and long-term parts support are not at the level of the Italian original, so keep the manual and contact the importer for spares.
Cleaning the Gas System
Remove the forend to reach the pistons, scrape off the carbon, and clear the gas ports in the barrel collar now and then. Keep oil light on the pistons. Wipe the walnut down after handling with wet hands. With basic care the 1014 keeps cycling across a wide range of loads.
Choosing Home Defense Loads
The gas system usually cycles reduced-recoil buckshot, which is easier to control for follow-up shots. Pattern your load at 7, 15 and 25 yards and pick the tightest choke result. Keep in mind that buckshot and slugs can travel through interior walls.
State Laws and Ownership
Some states restrict semi-auto shotguns with certain features or tube capacity. Check your state and local rules before ordering.
