The Leupold VX-Freedom 350 Legend and Straight Wall States

350 Legend was designed for the states that restrict deer hunting to straight wall cartridges, and it behaves accordingly: flat enough to ignore holdover inside 150 yards, then dropping quickly. The elevation turret is an exposed finger click design at a quarter MOA per click. It is not a Custom Dial System turret engraved in yards. That distinction matters: you will be counting clicks against your own dope rather than turning a dial to a range number. Write your numbers on tape and stick them to the stock.

That is not a criticism. An exposed finger click turret is simpler, cheaper and has nothing to go wrong, and on a 250 yard cartridge you will rarely turn it more than a few clicks anyway. Just do not buy the Leupold VX-Freedom 350 Legend expecting a yardage engraved dial, because that is a different model.

Sixty MOA of total elevation travel and sixty of windage. On a cartridge that is finished at 250 yards that is far more adjustment than you will use, and it means the Leupold VX-Freedom 350 Legend will zero comfortably on almost any base.

Three to nine power through a 40mm objective on a one inch tube. Field of view at 100 yards is 33.1 feet at 3x and 13.6 feet at 9x. Eye relief is 4.2 inches at 3x and 3.7 at 9x. Parallax is fixed and set parallax free at 150 yards, which sits almost exactly in the middle of this cartridge sensible range.

The duplex reticle is second focal plane, so it holds the same apparent size throughout the zoom range. The heavy outer posts pull your eye to the centre when the light goes, which on a late season straight wall hunt is most of the shooting you will do.
