Konus KonusPro Plus 6-24×50 Scope – Powerful Illuminated Long Range Riflescope

Description

The Konus KonusPro Plus 6-24×50 Scope (Konus item 7274) is a long-range riflescope with 6-24x magnification, a 50mm adjustable objective, and an engraved fine crosshair with a dual-illuminated red or blue center dot. It is built on a one-piece 1 inch tube, finished in matte black, and comes with a sunshade. It is aimed at varmint hunters, target shooters and anyone who wants high magnification on a budget.

Konus KonusPro Plus 6-24×50 Scope Overview

Konus is an Italian optics company that has built a wide range of value-priced riflescopes for decades. The KonusPro Plus line adds features usually found on more expensive scopes. The reticle is engraved on glass rather than made of wire, so it stays sharp and durable, and the illuminated center dot can be switched between red and blue to suit different backgrounds and light conditions. Fully multi-coated optics improve light transmission and contrast.

Adjustments and Parallax

Turrets adjust in fine 1/8 MOA clicks, which helps when making small corrections at long distance on small targets such as prairie dogs or paper bullseyes. The adjustable objective lets you correct parallax at different distances so the reticle stays on target when your head position shifts. At 24x, setting parallax correctly makes a noticeable difference in precision.

Field of View

Konus lists the field of view at about 16.2 feet at 100 yards on 6x and about 4.45 feet on 24x. That narrow field at high power is normal for this class of scope. Start on low power to find your target, then zoom in for the shot.

Mounting

The scope uses a 1 inch main tube. With a 50mm objective and sunshade, plan on high or extra-high one-inch rings so the objective bell clears the barrel. Leave room in your ring spacing for the adjustable objective ring and the eyepiece to move freely. Level the reticle carefully, since a canted crosshair shows up quickly at long range.

Where It Fits Best

This scope suits varmint rifles in .223 Remington, .22-250 and similar calibers, heavy-barrel target rifles and air rifles rated for scope use. Its weight and length make it less suited to fast-handling hunting rifles carried long distances.

Using the Illumination

Turn the illumination off in good daylight, where the black crosshair is easiest to see. At dawn and dusk, or against dark timber, a low red or blue setting makes the center dot pop without blooming. Use the lowest setting that is visible, which saves battery and avoids glare. Blue often shows better against green and red-brown backgrounds, while red stands out against snow and sky.

Honest Limitations

A 1 inch tube limits total internal adjustment compared with 30mm and 34mm long-range scopes, which matters for very long distances. The glass and turret repeatability are good for the price but will not match premium optics. High magnification also exaggerates mirage and hand shake, so a solid rest helps.
