Konus 7422 – Brilliant 34mm Scope Rings

Description

The Konus 7422 is a 34mm scope rings from Konus with a Picatinny / Weaver interface.

Konus 7422 Overview

Scope rings clamp the main tube of a riflescope and lock it to the base or rail on your rifle. Good rings hold the scope in perfect alignment shot after shot without marking the tube, which is why ring quality matters as much as scope quality for accuracy.

Ring height and tube diameter are the two numbers that matter most. The rings must match the scope tube exactly, and they need to be tall enough that the objective bell clears the barrel without lifting your head off the stock.

Fit and Compatibility

Mount type: Picatinny / Weaver. Ring or tube size: 34mm. Height: 40mm. Confirm the exact firearm model, receiver or slide cut, and the optic you plan to run before ordering, because mounting parts are made to precise dimensions and a near miss does not fit.

Installation Tips

Degrease the screws and mating surfaces, then snug the fasteners in an even, alternating pattern. Use a torque wrench and follow the maker’s inch-pound values; overtightening can crush a scope tube or strip threads, while undertightening lets the optic walk under recoil. A drop of thread locker on base screws, but not ring cap screws unless the maker says so, keeps everything in place.

Build and Materials

It is made from steel and finished in black, with a listed weight of 280 gr. Machined aluminum and steel parts hold tolerances well, while polymer parts save weight and resist corrosion.

Holding Zero

The real test of any mount is return to zero: the optic should come off and go back on, or ride through hundreds of rounds, without the point of impact wandering. Rigid materials, precise machining and correct torque all contribute. Witness marks with a paint pen make it easy to spot movement at a glance.

Honest Limitations

No single mounting part fits every firearm and optic. Height, eye relief, footprint and rail spacing all vary, and a part that is perfect for one setup can be wrong for another. Budget mounts can work well on rimfires and light recoiling rifles, but heavy recoil and duty use reward premium machining.

Care and Storage

Wipe off dirt and moisture after a wet hunt with a microfiber cloth, keep a small set of the correct bits or wrenches in your range bag, and check fasteners at the start of each season. A light coat of oil on steel parts prevents rust, while anodized aluminum only needs to be kept clean. Protect the optic from dust and rain when the rifle is stored or cased.

Before You Buy

Match the part to your exact firearm and optic, check the height and size listed above, and contact us with the model of your rifle, pistol or scope if you are unsure. Mounting parts and optic accessories are not firearms and ship without an FFL transfer.

Common Setup Mistakes

The most common problems we see at the counter are simple ones: rings or mounts that are too tall or too short for the shooter, scopes mounted too far back so the eyepiece hits the brow under recoil, reticles that are not level with the rifle, and screws that were tightened by feel instead of to spec. Another frequent issue is mixing parts made for different rail standards, such as Weaver and Picatinny, which can let a mount shift. Take a few extra minutes during setup and the optic will reward you with consistent groups for years.
