Description
The Kick-Eez Dual Action 201-10 Recoil Pad is a grind-to-fit sporting clay recoil pad built from two layers of Sorbothane, a shock-absorbing material that soaks up felt recoil far better than a hard factory butt plate or a thin rubber pad. This large pad measures 2 by 5 5/8 inches with a 1 1/8 inch thickness, and its screw holes are spaced 3 1/8 inches apart (plus or minus 1/16 inch), a spacing that lines up with many shotgun and rifle stocks.
The heel is angled at 45 degrees so the pad slides smoothly to your shoulder from a low-gun ready position, which is how most sporting clays stations are shot.
Why Choose the Kick-Eez Dual Action 201-10 Recoil Pad
- Two-layer Dual Action Sorbothane construction
- Grind-to-fit design for a clean, custom fit to your stock
- 45 degree angled heel for a smooth low-gun mount
- Size: 2 x 5 5/8 inches, 1 1/8 inch thick (Large)
- 3 1/8 inch screw hole spacing, part number DA-201-10-L-B
How the Dual Action Design Works
- The first ultra-soft Sorbothane layer reacts quickly to the initial recoil pulse
- The second layer absorbs the remaining energy the first layer did not
- No hollow cavities or metal plates inside the pad
- Installs with two screws, like other Kick-Eez pads
Kick-Eez offers the Sporting Clay pad in more than one size and thickness, so check the part number before you buy. The DA-201-10-L-B is the large 2 by 5 5/8 inch version at 1 1/8 inch thick. A thicker pad absorbs more recoil but adds more length of pull, while a thinner pad keeps your stock length closer to factory. The Kick-Eez Dual Action 201-10 Recoil Pad is a good fit for shooters who want a soft, durable pad that can be shaped to their own gun.

Why a Sorbothane Recoil Pad Makes a Difference
Recoil adds up over a long day of shooting. After a few rounds of sporting clays, trap or a morning of dove hunting, a hard butt plate leaves your shoulder sore, and that soreness often turns into a flinch that pulls shots off target. A sorbothane recoil pad spreads and absorbs that energy, so each shot feels softer and you can stay focused on the target instead of the kick.
A sporting clay recoil pad also has to mount cleanly. Many sporting clays stations are shot from a low-gun position, and a sticky or square-edged pad can snag on your vest or shirt as you raise the gun. The angled heel on this Kick-Eez pad helps the stock slide into place the same way every time.
A grind to fit recoil pad is sized a little larger than most stocks, so it can be shaped to match the exact outline of your gun. Many owners have a gunsmith handle the fitting, since grinding the pad flush takes the right tools and a steady hand. Before you order, measure your stock at the butt and compare it to the 2 by 5 5/8 inch pad size, and remember that adding a pad changes your length of pull by the pad thickness minus any material removed from the stock.
Clay shooters, hunters and anyone who wants to tame the recoil of a shotgun or rifle will find a kick-eez recoil pad a worthwhile upgrade. If you are unsure about fitting, have a qualified gunsmith install it.
