Description
The JTS M12AR 12 Ga 5rd is a shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge and a 5+1 capacity.
JTS M12AR 12 Ga 5rd Overview
JTS Group imports affordable shotguns for home defense, sport shooting and hunting, including magazine-fed AK and AR-style semi-autos and simple single-shot field guns. The M12AR is an AR-style semi-automatic 12-gauge with AR controls, a carry handle style top rail and an adjustable stock. Fit matters more with a shotgun than with almost any other firearm, because you point it rather than aim it. Check that the stock length lets you mount the gun smoothly with your eye centered over the rib, and pattern the gun with the chokes and loads you plan to use.
A few trips to the trap or sporting clays field before the season will sharpen your swing and help you learn how the gun handles.
Design and Features
It feeds from detachable 5-round box magazines, so reloading is fast, and it has a gas-operated action, an 18.7-inch barrel with removable choke tubes and rails for lights and optics. Shells and chokes make a big difference in performance. Match the load to the game, from light target loads for clays to heavier shot for waterfowl and turkey, and pattern the gun at the distances you expect to shoot. Keeping the action and choke threads clean and lightly oiled will keep the gun running reliably for many seasons.
Handling in the Field
It is fast to reload and familiar to AR shooters.
Action and Trigger
The trigger has a firm, predictable break.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 12 Gauge Cartridge
The 12 Gauge offers a good balance of power, accuracy, and recoil for its intended use.
Setup and Accessories
Set your shotgun up for its job: hunters will want a sling and a few choke tubes, clay shooters may add a recoil pad, and a home-defense setup benefits from a weapon light. Pattern every load and choke combination you plan to use.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the shotgun and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the action and choke threads. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
