Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance Hornady builds into every cartridge.
Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the Hornady 6mm ARC 90gr CX until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.
About the 6mm ARC
Hornady designed the 6mm ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge) to give the AR-15 platform true long-range performance. Its high ballistic coefficient bullets deliver less wind drift and more retained energy than the 5.56, making it a strong choice for precision shooting, varmints and deer-sized game from a compact semi-auto.
