Description
The Hornady 405 Win 300gr InterLock SP load is built for shooters who want more from their .405 Winchester than typical factory ammunition delivers. Hornady loads a 300 grain InterLock soft point to a rated 2200 feet per second, producing about 3225 foot-pounds of energy. The Hornady InterLock bullet uses a raised ring inside the jacket that locks the core and jacket together, so the bullet holds together for high weight retention and deep penetration while expanding reliably on game.

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance Hornady builds into every cartridge.
Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the Hornady 405 Win 300gr InterLock SP until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.
About the .405 Winchester
Introduced in 1904 for the Winchester Model 1895 lever action, the .405 Winchester was Theodore Roosevelt’s favorite “big medicine” for lions in Africa. Today it is chambered in the Model 1895 reproductions and single-shot rifles, and it still hits hard enough for moose, bison, and big bears at woods ranges.
