Description
The Hornady 30-40 Krag 180gr InterLock SP load is built for shooters who want more from their .30-40 Krag than typical factory ammunition delivers. The Hornady InterLock bullet uses a raised ring inside the jacket that locks the core and jacket together, so the bullet holds together for high weight retention and deep penetration while expanding reliably on game.

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance Hornady builds into every cartridge.
Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the Hornady 30-40 Krag 180gr InterLock SP until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.
About the .30-40 Krag
The .30-40 Krag was the first smokeless-powder cartridge adopted by the U.S. military, in 1892. It remains a fine deer cartridge for Krag-Jorgensen rifles and single shots, with moderate pressure and reliable performance.
