Why the Holosun SCS CZ P-10 Solar System Matters

A conventional pistol dot runs on a CR1632 or CR2032 and asks you to remember a battery date. The Holosun SCS CZ P-10 does away with that. The lithium cell inside is sealed and rechargeable, rated for roughly 20,000 hours of runtime, and the solar panel keeps feeding it any time the sight sees light. Leave the pistol in a holster for months and the optic is still awake when you draw it.

Brightness is automatic by default. The sensor reads ambient light and sets the reticle so it is bright enough in noon sun and dim enough indoors without washing out your target. If you would rather lock it in, there is a manual override at setting 9 for shooters who want a fixed, known brightness on a duty or match gun.

The Holosun SCS CZ P-10 uses Holosun Multi-Reticle System, so one optic gives you three sight pictures. A 2 MOA dot alone for precision at distance, a 32 MOA circle alone, or the circle and dot together for a fast close range pickup that funnels your eye to the centre. You cycle the Holosun SCS CZ P-10 reticles from the side buttons in a couple of seconds.

The emitter is green at 540 nanometres. Human eyes are most sensitive in that part of the spectrum, which is why a green reticle reads brighter than a red one at the same power draw, and why it stands out better against brown and green backgrounds than red does. On a solar powered sight that efficiency is doing double duty.

The viewing window measures 0.77 by 0.58 inches. That is a pistol sized window, not a rifle one, and it is sized to sit inside the slide profile of a CZ P-10 rather than hang over the edges. Adjustment is 1 MOA per click with 50 MOA of travel in each direction, which is far more range than a slide mounted optic will ever need.

Enclosed Emitter Build

The Holosun SCS CZ P-10 is a closed housing design. The emitter fires across a sealed tube rather than sitting exposed in an open channel, so lint, rain, snow and holster grit cannot settle on the LED and blank out your dot. For a carry pistol that lives against a body all day, that single design choice is worth more than any spec on the sheet.

The housing is 7075 T6 aluminium with a black anodised finish. It is rated IP67, meaning full dust ingress protection and survival under a metre of water, and it is tested to 5000G of shock. The whole sight weighs 1.25 ounces and measures 2 by 1.05 by 0.95 inches.

Fitment

The Holosun SCS CZ P-10 mounts directly to CZ P-10 optics ready slides. Holosun cut the footprint for that slide specifically, so the sight drops on with the factory screws and sits as low as a pistol optic can sit. There is no plate in the stack, which means fewer fasteners to loosen and a lower bore axis relationship between the dot and your suppressor height irons.
