Description
The Hogue Ruger 10/22 OverMolded Stock is a drop-in replacement for the factory 10/22 stock, moulded in Slate Grey rubber over a rigid reinforced skeleton and cut for a standard-profile barrel. It is the single cheapest upgrade that changes how a 10/22 feels in the hands.
What OverMolding Actually Does
Hogue’s OverMolded process bonds a soft synthetic rubber skin permanently to a rigid internal frame. There is no seam to peel, no glued-on grip panel and nothing to work loose. The result is a Hogue Ruger 10/22 OverMolded Stock that grips the hand rather than the other way around, and stays grippy when it is wet, cold or you are wearing gloves.
Aluminum Pillar Bedding
The action screw bears on an aluminum pillar rather than directly on synthetic. That prevents the stock from compressing over time as the screw is torqued and re-torqued, which is the usual reason a factory stock loses its zero after a few disassemblies. Consistent bedding is where accuracy improvements from a stock upgrade actually come from.
Standard Barrel Channel
This version is cut for a standard-profile factory barrel, not a heavy .920 bull barrel. Check which barrel your rifle wears before ordering, because the two channels are not interchangeable. If your 10/22 has the tapered factory barrel it came with, this is the correct stock.
Cobblestone Texture
The forend and grip carry Hogue’s cobblestone texture, an intermediate pattern that indexes the hand without shredding a shirt sleeve or a rifle case. It is aggressive enough to be useful in the field and mild enough for long range sessions. Slate Grey gives a modern look that pairs well with a black or stainless barrelled action.
Fit and Installation
Installation is genuinely a drop-in: remove the single action screw, lift the barrelled action out of the factory stock, set it into the Hogue and retighten. No inletting, no bedding compound and no gunsmith. Ten minutes and one hex key is the whole job.
Why Replace a Factory 10/22 Stock
The standard 10/22 stock is thin, slick and short, which is fine for a first rifle and limiting after that. The Hogue Ruger 10/22 OverMolded Stock adds a fuller grip, a broader forend that sits better on a bag or bipod, and rubber that soaks up the small amount of recoil a rimfire generates. It also adds a little weight up front, which quietly steadies the rifle for offhand shooting.

Who Should Buy It
This suits anyone who shoots their 10/22 often enough to be annoyed by the factory stock. Small game hunters, plinkers and rimfire competitors all benefit from a better grip and a forend that rests properly on a bag.
The Hogue Ruger 10/22 OverMolded Stock is barrel-channel specific, so it will not accept a bull barrel, and rubber picks up lint and dust more readily than a hard finish. It is also heavier than the thin factory stock, which some carriers will not want.
Shooters running a .920 bull barrel should order the .920 version instead, and anyone wanting an adjustable chassis should look at a tactical thumbhole stock in our catalog.
