Description
The HK MR762 A4 13 Inch 20 Round is a rifle chambered in 308 Win with a 13-inch barrel and a 20+1 capacity. This configuration is listed by HK as: MR762 A4, 13″, 1-20RD MAG (PISTOL).
HK MR762 A4 13 Inch 20 Round Overview
The HK MR762 A4 is the civilian semi-automatic version of the HK417, built with HK’s short-stroke gas piston system that keeps the action cleaner and cooler than direct impingement, and a cold hammer-forged barrel for accuracy and service life.
Design and Features
HK builds its barrels by cold hammer forging, which produces a durable, accurate bore with a long service life. It ships with magazines holding up to 20 rounds.
Handling in the Field
The MR762 is a premium, battle-proven platform for long-range precision, hunting, and defensive use, with the reliability HK is known for. It is heavier than many AR-10s, which helps steady it on target.
Action and Trigger
The two-stage trigger is crisp, and the AR-style controls will be familiar to anyone who has run an AR-15. The free-floating rail system accepts optics, lights, and accessories.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 308 Win Cartridge
The 308 Winchester is a proven, accurate full-power cartridge with plenty of energy for big game and long-range target work.
Setup and Accessories
Start with a quality optic and solid rings or a mount, then add a sling for carrying and a bipod or shooting bag for steady rests. Test a few loads for accuracy and settle on the one your rifle likes best. A hard case protects your investment on the way to the range or the field.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the rifle and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the bolt face and chamber. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
Your First Range Trip
Mount your optic, bore sight it, then fire your first groups at 25 yards before moving to 100. Let the barrel cool between strings, and record your zero and the load you used. Wear eye and ear protection, keep the muzzle in a safe direction, and clean the bore when you get home.
