GSG Firefly 22LR Pink 4 Inch Pistol – Reliable 10 Round Non-Threaded DA/SA

Description

The GSG Firefly 22LR Pink 4 Inch pistol is the original-style Firefly: a full-size 22 LR with a 4-inch non-threaded barrel, a 10-round magazine, a pink alloy frame and a black serrated slide, aimed at relaxed range days and learning the basics.

GSG Firefly 22LR Pink 4 Inch Overview

German Sport Guns builds the Firefly in Germany and American Tactical imports it; this listing is factory model GERG2210FFP. It uses a blowback action with a double/single action hammer-fired trigger, a three-dot sight picture with an adjustable rear, an ambidextrous manual safety, an internal lock and an accessory rail on the frame. Weight is about 24.6 ounces. Compared to the newer 4.9-inch threaded Firefly models, this version is a little shorter, has no muzzle threads to manage, and ships with a 10-round magazine that is already compliant in many capacity-limited states.

Why Choose the 4 Inch

The shorter barrel trims overall length and keeps the front of the gun a little lighter, which some shooters find easier to hold steady with one hand. Without threads you do not need to keep track of a thread protector or adapter, and a few states that restrict threaded barrels on semi-automatic pistols treat a plain barrel more simply. If you want to add a suppressor later, the threaded models are the better choice.

Learning on a 22

The double-action first shot and lighter single-action follow-ups teach the same trigger management used on many centerfire service pistols. Low recoil lets beginners focus on grip and sight alignment instead of muzzle blast. Start slowly, use eye and ear protection, and get instruction from a qualified coach.

Ammunition and Function

Feed it high-velocity round-nose 22 LR. Standard-velocity target ammunition may not fully cycle the slide, and very cheap bulk ammo can produce misfires. Break-in of a few hundred rounds is normal. Clean the chamber and extractor regularly, as 22 LR leaves heavy residue.

Materials and Care

The frame and slide are cast zinc alloy rather than steel, which keeps the price down and is adequate for 22 LR. Use a snap cap for dry practice, avoid harsh solvents that may dull the pink finish, and do not disassemble beyond the field strip described in the manual.

Things to Know

Holsters made specifically for the Firefly are limited, and some made for the similar SIG Mosquito may fit; check before buying. Spare 10-round magazines are available. Resale value is modest, but the purchase price and ammunition cost are low.

State Laws and Ownership

Handgun rosters and other local rules still apply even to a 10-round pistol without muzzle threads. Check your state and local requirements before ordering.
