Grizzly 44 Mag 320gr WLNGC – Powerful Hard Cast Hunting Ammo

Description

The Grizzly 44 Mag 320gr WLNGC load, item GC44M19, is a 20 round box of 44 Magnum ammunition from Grizzly Cartridge Company, loaded with a 320 grain hard cast wide long nose gas check bullet rated at 1350 fps. Grizzly recommends it for hunting deer, bear and boar.

Grizzly 44 Mag 320gr WLNGC Overview

This is a heavyweight 44 Magnum load built for the toughest handgun hunting. Grizzly loads a 320 grain hard cast wide long nose gas check bullet and rates it at 1350 fps. A bullet this heavy has very high sectional density, which helps it drive straight and deep through thick hide, muscle and bone. It is a favorite style of load for big boar, black bear and other large animals, and for outdoorsmen who want maximum penetration from a 44 Magnum.

Bullet Design

WLNGC stands for wide long nose, gas check. It is a heavy hard cast lead bullet with a wide flat meplat and a longer nose profile, finished with a copper gas check on the base. The design favors deep, straight penetration and a broad wound channel on large, tough game, and the gas check helps keep the bore clean at higher speed.

Intended Use

Grizzly recommends this load for hunting deer, bear and boar. It also serves well as a backcountry protection load in a large-frame 44 Magnum revolver. Because hard cast bullets penetrate deeply, it is not intended for urban self-defense. Check state hunting regulations before use.

Firearm Compatibility

This ammunition is made for revolvers and rifles chambered in 44 Remington Magnum, such as the Smith and Wesson Model 29 and 629, the Ruger Super Blackhawk, Redhawk and Super Redhawk, the Taurus Raging Hunter, and lever-action rifles from Marlin, Henry and Rossi in 44 Magnum. Do not fire 44 Magnum in a firearm chambered only for 44 Special. Very heavy bullets are long, so confirm they fit your revolver cylinder and feed in your lever-action rifle.

Grizzly Cartridge Company

Grizzly Cartridge Company is an American ammunition maker known for heavy, hard-hitting loads for hunters, outdoorsmen and handgunners who carry in bear country, along with cowboy action, defense and safari ammunition. Its loads are made in the USA, and many are built to run at the upper end of what each cartridge allows, so always match the load to your firearm.

Recoil and Shootability

A 320 grain 44 Magnum load produces heavy, rolling recoil in a handgun. A large, heavy revolver with good grips is strongly recommended, and lever-action rifles make it much more comfortable to shoot.

Practice and Testing

Fire at least a box through your own firearm before you rely on this load for hunting, competition or protection. Confirm reliable feeding and extraction, and check where it prints at the distances you expect to shoot, since heavy or fast loads often hit to a different point than light practice ammunition.

Storage and Care

Store ammunition in a cool, dry place in its original box, away from solvents and lubricants that can contaminate primers. Inspect rounds for dents, loose bullets or corrosion before loading.
