Description
The Grand Power Stribog SP9A3S 9mm Brace FDE is Grand Power’s third-generation Stribog SP9A3S in Flat Dark Earth, a roller-delayed 9mm pistol with a 5 inch threaded barrel, a Tailhook pistol brace and three 30-round magazines. Built in Slovakia, the Stribog is known for smooth recoil and reliability. The SP9A3S is the short version, with a 5 inch barrel that makes it one of the most compact roller-delayed 9mm pistols available. This listing is UPC 197892029988.
Grand Power Stribog SP9A3S 9mm Brace FDE Overview
The A3 generation uses a roller-delayed blowback system that slows the bolt for a softer, flatter recoil impulse than a straight blowback 9mm. The aluminum upper has a full-length Picatinny top rail, an M-LOK handguard and a bottom Picatinny rail, and the polymer lower is finished in FDE. A non-reciprocating side charging handle works with either hand, flip-up front and rear sights come standard, and the barrel is threaded with a thread protector. The Tailhook brace folds and gives a third point of contact against the forearm.
The short barrel and brace make it easy to store in a vehicle or move through tight spaces, at the cost of a little velocity and more muzzle flash than the 8 inch model.
Roller Delayed Recoil
The delay keeps the muzzle flat for fast follow-up shots and runs reliably across a wide range of 9mm loads, from light target ammunition to defensive hollow points.
The Tailhook Brace
The Tailhook is a pistol stabilizing brace designed to rest under the forearm. Brace rules have changed several times in recent years and some states restrict braced pistols, so check current federal guidance and your state law. Adding an actual shoulder stock to a pistol with a barrel under 16 inches creates a short-barreled rifle that requires an approved ATF Form 1.
Magazines
Three 30-round Stribog magazines are included. The SP9A3 uses Grand Power’s own magazine pattern. Several states limit magazine capacity, so check your local laws.
Optics and Accessories
The top rail takes any red dot, and the M-LOK slots and bottom rail accept a light, handstop or sling mount.
Threaded Muzzle
The threaded barrel accepts a muzzle device. Suppressors are NFA items that need an approved ATF Form 4 and must be legal in your state, and MAG5 Firearms does not sell NFA items.
State Laws
Some states restrict pistols of this type, braces, threaded barrels or magazines over 10 rounds, and the distributor cannot ship this model to certain states. Check your local laws and confirm your dealer can transfer it.
Care and Maintenance
Field strip the pistol after each range session, clean the barrel and breech face, and apply a few drops of quality lubricant to the slide rails and barrel hood. Check sight and optic screws periodically and use thread locker when mounting a red dot. Store the handgun unloaded in a locked safe or lockbox away from children.
Choosing Ammunition
Use affordable full metal jacket loads for practice and premium jacketed hollow points for defense. Fire a few hundred rounds, including a couple of boxes of your carry load, to confirm reliable feeding before you depend on it. Use +P ammunition only if the maker approves it for your model.
Recommended Accessories
A quality holster, spare magazines, a weapon light, eye and ear protection and a cleaning kit round out a handgun purchase.
Choosing a Red Dot
A durable red dot with a 2 to 3 MOA dot is a great match for a compact pistol caliber platform. Mount it at a height that lets you see the flip-up sights in the lower third of the window, zero at 25 yards, and confirm your zero with your chosen ammunition. Pick an optic with long battery life and a shake-awake feature.
Training Tips
Start close, focus on a consistent grip and smooth trigger press, and work back as your groups tighten. Practice reloads and malfunction clearing with dummy rounds, and consider a class to build safe habits.
