Description
The Grand Power Stribog SP45A3 45ACP Black is a roller-delayed .45 ACP pistol with an 8-inch threaded barrel, an SB Tactical folding brace and an all-black aluminum and polymer receiver. It feeds from 20-round magazines and is made in Slovakia by Grand Power, then imported by Global Ordnance.

Grand Power Stribog SP45A3 45ACP Black Overview
This is the black-finish twin of the FDE SP45A3, mechanically identical but with a black upper and lower. The A3 roller-delayed system holds the bolt closed a fraction longer than straight blowback, which lets Grand Power use a lighter bolt and still tame the .45 ACP. The result is a gun of roughly 5.4 pounds empty, according to factory figures, that shoots softer than its size suggests. A full-length Picatinny top rail, a short bottom rail and side M-LOK slots give room for an optic, a light and a handstop.
Big-Bore Pistol Caliber, Low Blast
Standard 230-grain .45 ACP loads leave the barrel below the speed of sound, so the SP45A3 avoids the sharp supersonic crack of many rifle and 9mm loads. Paired with a suppressor, it is one of the quieter pistol-caliber platforms available. Even unsuppressed, the 8-inch barrel produces less flash than short rifle-caliber pistols. Expect to pay more per round than 9mm, and buy magazines early because they sell out.

All-Black Configuration
The black aluminum upper, black polymer lower and black brace give the most traditional look in the SP45A3 line. Black matches almost any optic, light and sling, and wear on the anodized edges is less obvious than on lighter finishes. Distributor photos show a smoked translucent magazine, which lets you check the round count at a glance, and the magazines themselves are polymer.
Ergonomics and Controls
The AR-style grip and two-piece AR-pattern trigger feel familiar to anyone who has shot an AR15. Safety levers and magazine releases sit on both sides, and the charging handle stays still while you shoot, so it never slaps your support hand. Flip-up backup sights come on the rail. The magazines are UMP-style, shared in body with the 10mm Stribog but caliber specific, and they do not interchange with 9mm Stribog magazines.

Brace and Accessories
The SB Tactical brace folds to the side for storage and opens for a steadier hold. Federal brace rules have changed repeatedly; the 2023 ATF rule was vacated in 2024, but some states regulate braces separately and future federal action is possible, so stay current. The barrel is threaded for a muzzle device; confirm pitch before ordering one. Use an angled grip or handstop rather than a vertical foregrip, which can create an NFA item.
Honest Caveats
Stribog accessories, magazines and parts are less widely stocked than those for Glock-based carbines, and some gunsmiths will not have worked on a roller-delayed action. Resale value is harder to predict for a specialty import. At over five pounds it is a range, home and vehicle gun, not a holster gun. Suppressors are NFA items that require an approved ATF Form 4 and state legality.
State Laws and Ownership
Braced pistols with threaded barrels and magazines outside the grip are banned or restricted in California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, Washington, Colorado and Delaware, along with magazine limits in most of those states. Pennsylvania has no assault weapon ban, and handgun sales go through a licensed dealer with a background check. Confirm your state and local rules first.
