Description
The GForce GF5 Filthy Pheasant 12GA is a shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge with a 26-inch barrel. This model. GForce Arms backs its firearms with a lifetime warranty, and the company focuses on practical, affordable guns for hunting, home defense, and recreational shooting.
GForce GF5 Filthy Pheasant 12GA Overview
The GF5 Filthy Pheasant is GForce Arms’ over/under field shotgun, built for upland hunters and clay shooters who want classic looks at an approachable price. It pairs Turkish walnut furniture with a nickel-finished aluminum alloy receiver and 4140 steel barrels with a ventilated rib.
Design and Features
The barrels accept Benelli Mobil-pattern choke tubes, and five extended chokes (cylinder, improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, and full) are included. A fiber optic front sight, mid-bead, and ventilated rubber recoil pad complete the package, and youth models have a shorter 13-inch length of pull.
Handling in the Field
GForce shotguns are known for delivering a lot of features for the money. This model balances well, mounts quickly, and is easy to keep running with basic cleaning and lubrication.
Action and Trigger
The break action is simple and reliable. Open the action to load two shells, close it, and you are ready. Always check that both chambers and barrels are clear before closing.
Sights and Optics
Use the front bead or fiber optic sight on the rib, and pattern your loads with each choke before hunting or defense use.
The 12 Gauge Cartridge
The 12 Gauge is the most versatile shotgun chambering, with loads for everything from clays and birds to buckshot and slugs.
Setup and Accessories
Set your shotgun up for its job: hunters will want a sling and a few choke tubes, clay shooters may add a recoil pad, and a home-defense setup benefits from a weapon light. Pattern every load and choke combination you plan to use.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the shotgun and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the action and choke threads. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
