Description
The Fort Scott Creedmoor 123gr TUI load is a 20 round box of 6.5 Creedmoor ammunition from Fort Scott Munitions, an American company in Fort Scott, Kansas. It uses a 123 grain Solid Copper Spun (SCS) bullet with the company’s Tumble Upon Impact design, and Fort Scott lists a test velocity of 2,805 fps from a 24 inch barrel with a 1:8 twist.

Fort Scott Creedmoor 123gr TUI Overview
5 Creedmoor earned its following with mild recoil, accuracy and efficient long, aerodynamic bullets. Fort Scott’s load brings a lead-free option to the cartridge with a 123 grain Solid Copper Spun bullet, tested at 2,805 fps from a 24 inch barrel with a 1:8 twist. 5 Creedmoor rifles. Instead of expanding, it tumbles after impact for a broad wound path while staying intact. Deer hunters and others in areas with lead restrictions can keep shooting the cartridge they already trust.
How TUI Works
Fort Scott’s patented Tumble Upon Impact (TUI) design works differently from an expanding hunting bullet. Rather than mushrooming, the lathe-turned copper bullet is engineered so it begins to yaw and tumble shortly after it enters a target. A tumbling bullet presents its full length as it travels, creating a large wound channel while retaining its weight because it does not fragment or shed petals. That means deep, consistent penetration and no lead fragments in game meat.

Non-Lead Construction
Because the bullet is a single piece of copper turned on a lathe, it contains no lead core. That makes it compliant in areas that restrict lead ammunition for hunting and reduces lead exposure at the range. Monolithic bullets are longer than lead-core bullets of the same weight, so Fort Scott tunes seating depth and powder charge for each load.
Firearm Compatibility
Fire this ammunition only in rifles chambered for 6.5 Creedmoor. Do not use it in 6.5 PRC, 6.5×55 Swedish, 260 Remington or 6.5 Grendel rifles; those are different cartridges even though they share a bullet diameter. Fort Scott tested it with a 1:8 twist, the standard for most factory 6.5 Creedmoor barrels.

Accuracy and Testing
Every rifle has its own preferences. Before you hunt with this load, fire several groups at your usual distance to confirm point of impact. Solid copper bullets often shoot to a different point than lead-core ammunition of the same weight, so a fresh zero check is always worth the time, and clean copper fouling from the bore if accuracy starts to drift.
Recoil and Shootability
Recoil is light for a full-power big game cartridge, which is one reason the 6.5 Creedmoor is popular with new and young hunters. Practice from the positions you will use in the field and confirm your drop at the ranges you expect to shoot.
