Fiocchi 308 Win 150gr PSP Field Dynamics – Proven 20 Round Hunting Box

Description

The Fiocchi 308 Win 150gr PSP load, item 308BFOA, is a 20 round box of 308 Winchester ammunition from the Fiocchi Field Dynamics line, loaded with a 150 grain pointed soft point (psp) bullet rated at 2,750 fps. Some distributors still list it under the earlier Shooting Dynamics rifle name.

Fiocchi 308 Win 150gr PSP Overview

The 308 Winchester is one of the most versatile big game cartridges in North America, and the 150 grain soft point is its classic deer load. Fiocchi’s Field Dynamics line focuses on traditional, affordable hunting bullets that perform the way generations of hunters expect. This load pairs a pointed soft point with a rated muzzle velocity of 2,750 fps, giving a flat enough trajectory for typical woods and field shots while delivering dependable expansion. It is a practical choice for hunters who want a no-frills load that they can afford to practice with before the season.

Intended Use

This is a hunting load. Soft point bullets are designed to expand in a controlled way, opening up while still driving deep enough for clean, ethical shots on appropriate game. Match the load to the animal, keep shots within your proven range, and check your state regulations for any caliber or bullet requirements.

Bullet and Ballistics

A pointed soft point is a cup-and-core design: a copper jacket over a lead core with exposed lead at the tip. On impact the exposed lead starts expansion, and the jacket helps control it as the bullet penetrates. Fiocchi lists a G1 ballistic coefficient of .380. At moderate ranges the bullet retains plenty of energy for whitetail deer, black bear at sensible distances and similar game. For very large or tough animals, or for long-range shots, consider a bonded or monolithic bullet instead.

Firearm Compatibility

Fire this ammunition in rifles chambered for 308 Winchester. Many rifles marked 7.62×51 NATO will also accept 308 Winchester, but follow your rifle maker’s guidance because chamber and pressure standards differ slightly. Never use it in 300 Blackout, 30-06 or other 30 caliber chambers. It works in bolt-action, lever-action, semi-automatic and single-shot rifles chambered for the round.

Reliability and Testing

Factory ammunition from an established maker is held to consistent standards, but every firearm is a little different. Shoot at least a box through your gun before you rely on any load, and watch for clean primer strikes, smooth feeding and positive extraction. If you shoot more than one load, note where each one prints at your usual distance so you can adjust your sights or holds.

Recoil and Shootability

A 150 grain 308 load produces firm but manageable recoil in a standard-weight hunting rifle. Lightweight mountain rifles kick noticeably harder, so practice from field positions before the season. Confirm your zero with this exact load, since soft points often print differently from target ammunition of the same weight.

Storage and Care

Store ammunition in a cool, dry place in its original box, away from solvents and lubricants that can contaminate primers. Inspect rounds for dents, loose bullets or corrosion before loading, and set aside anything that looks damaged.
