Target Performance with Less Plastic
Federal Top Gun Paper Wad loads give you a trusted target shell with less plastic left on the field. A paper wad, cellulose-based filler and a paper gas-sealing over-powder wad replace the usual plastic parts.
High-quality lead payloads, a consistent primer and select clean-burning propellant keep performance in line with standard Top Gun loads.

Target Shooting Tips
Use Federal Top Gun Paper Wad 12ga TG12W8 shells only in shotguns chambered for 2-3/4 inch 12 gauge shells or longer.
Always wear eye and ear protection on the range and in the field.
Use the choke that matches your game: skeet or improved cylinder for close targets and modified or tighter for trap.
Follow the range rules and keep your action open when you are not on the station.
Federal Top Gun Paper Wad 12ga TG12W8 ammo is a dependable choice for trap, skeet and sporting clays shooters who want a dependable practice load.
Building consistency on clays
The best way to improve on clays is steady practice with one load. Shooting the same shell every round makes your timing and lead more consistent, so you can focus on your mount and swing.
Buying in bulk
Regular clay shooters often buy target loads by the case. Keeping several boxes of Federal Top Gun Paper Wad 12ga TG12W8 on hand means you can practice whenever the range is open.
Storage and care
Store Federal Top Gun Paper Wad 12ga TG12W8 shells in a cool, dry place in their original box. Clean your shotgun after a busy day on the range to keep it cycling smoothly.
Reading the box
The box lists the gauge, shell length, payload, shot size and muzzle velocity. Always match the gauge and shell length to your shotgun’s chamber, which is usually stamped on the barrel. Never fire a shell that is longer than the chamber.
About the Top Gun Paper Wad line
Federal Top Gun Paper Wad 12ga TG12W8 is part of Federal’s Top Gun Paper Wad family, which covers several shot sizes and payloads so you can match the load to your gun and the job at hand. Federal publishes the specifications for each load, so you can compare options before you buy.
Buying the right amount
When you find a load that performs well in your shotgun, buy enough for practice and the full season at the same time. Shells from the same lot tend to perform the same, which keeps your results consistent from the first shot to the last.
