Federal All American 20ga 8 Shot – Superb Skeet and Trap Shells, 25 Rounds

Description

Federal All American 20ga 8 Shot shells are Federal’s competition 20 gauge load with #8 shot, a favorite for skeet, short range sporting clays and 16 yard trap in the smaller gauge. Each 2 3/4 inch shell holds 7/8 ounce of high antimony lead at about 1,200 feet per second, giving a dense pattern with gentle recoil. Each box holds 25 rounds.

Dense #8 Patterns for Closer Targets

Smaller #8 pellets put more shot in the air than #7.5 from the same 7/8 ounce charge. That extra pellet count fills the pattern for targets at skeet distances and close sporting clays stations, where a dense, even spread matters more than pellet energy.

Federal builds All-American loads around its one piece Podium wad, designed for straight wall hulls. A built in compression zone softens the push on the shot charge at ignition, which helps preserve round pellets for better patterns and keeps recoil mild through a full round of skeet or doubles.

High antimony lead gives each pellet the hardness to resist deforming in the barrel and choke. Round pellets fly truer and arrive together, helping you break targets cleanly rather than chipping them.

Field Notes and Skeet Tips

Use Federal All American 20ga 8 Shot shells for 20 gauge skeet events, close sporting clays presentations, five stand and 16 yard trap. #8 shot is also a common choice for dove and quail where lead shot is legal.

A skeet or improved cylinder choke usually gives the best results with #8 shot at close range. Pattern your gun with the chokes you plan to use so you understand the spread at 20 and 30 yards.

Keep 20 gauge shells separate from any 12 gauge ammunition. A 20 gauge shell can slide into a 12 gauge barrel and lodge out of sight, creating a serious obstruction if a 12 gauge shell is fired behind it.

Clean wad residue from the chamber and choke threads after each outing so your shotgun cycles and extracts reliably.

If you shoot 20 gauge skeet or want a soft, dense patterning load for close targets, Federal All American 20ga 8 Shot shells are a superb choice. Add a dedicated 20 gauge ammo box and a quality shell pouch to stay organized on the field.

Skeet is one of the best disciplines for building wingshooting skills, and a 20 gauge with competition loads makes it even more enjoyable. Lower recoil lets you focus on smooth gun movement and consistent follow through from station to station. Many shooters who start with a 20 gauge keep using it for practice even after moving up to a 12 gauge for registered events.

Store Federal All American 20ga 8 Shot shells in a cool, dry place in their original boxes so hulls and primers stay in top shape between shoots.

Wear eye and ear protection every time you shoot, and check the bore for obstructions if a shell ever sounds or feels different than normal. A light, consistent load makes it easier to notice anything unusual, which is another reason competitors stick with one trusted shell for practice and matches.
