The Federal 7mm Mauser 140gr JSP load is built for shooters who want more from their 7mm Mauser (7×57) than typical factory ammunition delivers. Federal Power-Shok is the company’s traditional deer and big-game load, pairing a proven soft point bullet with Federal brass and primers. It is a no-frills hunting round that has put a lot of venison in freezers, with dependable expansion at typical woods and field distances.

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance Federal builds into every cartridge.
Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the Federal 7mm Mauser 140gr JSP until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.
About the 7mm Mauser
The 7x57mm Mauser dates to 1892 and armed several armies before becoming a respected hunting cartridge on every continent. Factory loads are usually kept to modest pressure for older rifles, and its mild recoil makes it a pleasant deer rifle. Have any surplus rifle checked by a gunsmith before shooting it.
