Federal 17 HMR 17gr V-Max – Proven 17 HMR Rimfire Varmint Ammo, 2530 fps, 50 Rounds

Description

The Federal 17 HMR 17gr V-Max load is built for shooters who want more from their 17 HMR than typical factory ammunition delivers. Federal loads a 17 grain Hornady V-Max polymer tip to a rated 2530 feet per second, producing about 242 foot-pounds of energy. Federal Varmint and Predator loads use polymer-tipped bullets for flat trajectory and violent expansion on prairie dogs, coyotes and other predators, while keeping the accuracy you need for small targets at distance.

Why Choose the Federal 17 HMR 17gr V-Max

• 17 grain Hornady V-Max polymer tip bullet
• Rated 2530 fps and 242 ft-lbs
• Brass cases with reliable primers
• Tipped bullet for explosive expansion
• 50 rounds per box, item P771

Built for Varmints and Predators

• Flat trajectory for small, distant targets
• Rapid expansion on varmints and predators
• Quality brass cases and reliable primers
• Consistent accuracy shot after shot

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance Federal builds into every cartridge.

Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the Federal 17 HMR 17gr V-Max until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.

About the 17 HMR

Hornady introduced the 17 HMR (Hornady Magnum Rimfire) in 2002 by necking down the .22 WMR case. It shoots flatter and faster than any traditional rimfire, making 150- to 200-yard shots on prairie dogs, ground squirrels and small predators practical with a quiet, low-recoil rifle.
