Description
The Federal 10 ga 1-5/8oz BB Black Cloud load is built for hunters who want dependable patterns on ducks and geese. Federal loads 1 5/8 oz of BB FliteStopper steel shot to a rated 1375 feet per second in a 3-1/2 in 10 Gauge shell. Federal Black Cloud FS Steel loads combine standard steel pellets with FliteStopper steel, whose cutting ring creates larger wound channels on ducks and geese. The FliteControl wad uses rear-deploying brakes to separate cleanly from the payload, keeping patterns dense and consistent at typical waterfowl ranges.

Patterning your shotgun with a new load is the best way to know how it performs. Shoot a few rounds at a large sheet of paper at 25 to 35 yards with the choke you plan to hunt with, and check that the densest part of the pattern lines up with your point of aim. Trying a tighter or more open choke can make a real difference on fast, close birds.
Store shotshells in a cool, dry place in their original box, and keep loads with different shot sizes separated so you always grab the right shell in the field. Buying enough from the same lot for the whole season keeps velocity and pattern consistent from one hunt to the next, so your practice carries over to the field.
Waterfowl hunters have been required to use non-toxic shot in the United States since 1991, and steel has become the most common choice because it is affordable and widely available. Because steel is lighter than lead, hunters often choose a shot size one or two steps larger than they would with lead and rely on high velocity to maintain pellet energy at decoying distances.

Why Choose Federal 10 Gauge Shotshells
Big geese demand heavy payloads and large pellets, and the 10 gauge remains the classic goose gun for that reason. This Black Cloud load packs 1 5/8 ounces of BB steel into a 3 1/2 inch hull, giving hunters the pellet energy needed for clean kills on Canada geese.
The FliteControl wad holds the payload together longer for consistent patterns, while the FliteStopper pellets cut a larger wound channel than round steel alone.
Federal Premium has made ammunition in Anoka, Minnesota since 1922 and is one of the leading names in waterfowl ammunition. Its Black Cloud line set a new standard for steel shot performance, and federal 10 ga ammo from this line is chosen by duck and goose hunters who want dense patterns and hard-hitting pellets.
Black Cloud 10 gauge BB loads suit goose hunters shooting 10 gauge guns over decoys or on pass-shooting setups where heavy pellets and dense patterns matter most. Always confirm your shotgun is chambered for 3-1/2 in 10 Gauge shells, wear eye and ear protection, and follow all federal, state and local hunting laws.

Choosing 10 Ga Goose Loads
When comparing 10 ga goose loads, waterfowlers look for heavy pellets, dense patterns and reliable cycling in cold, wet conditions. The 10 ga black cloud line combines FliteStopper steel with the FliteControl wad to deliver hard-hitting, consistent patterns on ducks and geese.
