Federal Henry 250th 45-70 300gr HP – Powerful Collector’s Edition Lever Ammo, 20 Rounds

Description

Federal Henry 250th 45-70 300gr HP ammunition is a collector’s edition load created by Federal and Henry Repeating Arms to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. It pairs commemorative packaging with a 300 grain hollow point bullet in the classic 45-70 Government, listed by Federal at about 1,850 feet per second. It is built to run in lever guns like Henry’s anniversary Golden Boy and works just as well at the range or in the deer woods. Each box holds 20 rounds.

A Celebration Load That Still Works Hard

The 45-70 Government dates back to 1873 and remains one of the most respected big bore rifle cartridges in America. Federal and Henry chose it for this anniversary collaboration because it fits perfectly with the lever action tradition while delivering real power on game.

A 300 grain bullet at about 1,850 fps is a classic modern 45-70 recipe. It offers a flatter trajectory than heavier 405 grain cowboy style loads, while still hitting with plenty of energy for deer, black bear and hogs at typical lever gun distances.

Federal loads this edition with reliable brass and primers, so it is as practical as it is collectible. Many owners will buy one box to keep with their anniversary rifle and another to shoot.

Field Notes and Lever Gun Tips

Use Federal Henry 250th 45-70 300gr HP ammo in rifles chambered for 45-70 Government that are rated for modern factory loads. Very old trapdoor Springfield rifles and some replicas should only fire low pressure loads, so check with the manufacturer or a qualified gunsmith if you are unsure.

Zero your rifle at 100 yards and learn your holds at 150 and 200 yards. The 45-70 has a curved trajectory compared with modern bottleneck rounds, so knowing your drops matters for clean shots on game.

Load your tube magazine carefully and avoid storing it fully loaded for long periods. Check cartridges periodically for bullet setback, especially if they have been chambered several times.

If you plan to keep a box as a collectible, store it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight so the packaging stays in good condition.

If you own a 45-70 lever gun, collect Henry rifles, or simply want a special load to mark America’s 250th, Federal Henry 250th 45-70 300gr HP ammo is a powerful and proven choice. Add a buttstock quiver to carry extra rounds on your Henry.

Lever action rifles in 45-70 are fast handling and powerful, which makes them popular for hunting in thick timber, along river bottoms and anywhere shots come quickly at modest range. With Federal Henry 250th 45-70 300gr HP ammo, you get a modern bullet weight that balances trajectory and energy, plus packaging that marks a once in a lifetime anniversary. It is equally at home on the bench, in the deer stand or on the shelf next to a commemorative rifle.
