Escort PS Youth 20ga 22 Mossy Overview
The PS Youth is a Escort semi-auto shotgun. It cycles itself for fast follow up shots and softer felt recoil than a pump.
Action and Controls
The PS Youth is a semi-auto shotgun. It holds 4+1 rounds. The safety is crossbolt. This is a right hand model.
Barrel and Chokes
The 22 inch barrel is chrome plated steel with a vent rib profile. The chamber accepts 3″ shells. Sights are Bead Front.
Stock and Fit
The stock is synthetic with a mossy oak bottomland finish. The length of pull is Adjustable. Metal surfaces wear Mossy Oak Bottomland.
Size and Handling
Overall length is 41″. It weighs about 6 lbs. Mount the gun the same way every time and let your eyes lead the muzzle to the target.
Ammo and Practice
Use target loads for clays, the right shot size for the birds you hunt, and buckshot or slugs only where they fit the job. Pattern the gun with each load at the distances you expect to shoot.
The 20 gauge
The 20 gauge is lighter and kicks less than a 12, yet with modern loads it handles upland birds, doves and even ducks.
Upland Birds and Waterfowl
This shotgun suits upland birds, doves and waterfowl, and it works fine for a round of clays. Federal law requires nontoxic shot for waterfowl.
Accessories
A sling, a case, extra choke tubes and a good recoil pad make a shotgun easier to live with. Hunters should add shell carriers and blaze orange or camo gear as the season requires.
Buying Tips
Pattern your gun with each choke and load you plan to use, and check that the length of pull fits you.
Care and Value
Clean the bore and action after each range trip or hunt, keep moving parts lightly oiled and wipe the finish after handling. A well kept Escort holds its value.
State Laws
Some states limit semi-auto features, magazine capacity and hunting calibers. Check your local law before you buy. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
