DoubleTap 45-70 405gr Hardcast – Powerful 45-70 Government Hunting Ammo, 1810 fps, 20 Rounds

Description

The DoubleTap 45-70 405gr Hardcast load is built for shooters who want more from their 45-70 Government than typical factory ammunition delivers. DoubleTap loads a 405 grain Hardcast Solid flat nose bullet to a rated 1810 feet per second, producing about 2914 foot-pounds of energy from a 22 inch Marlin. This is a full-power load built to about 25,000 psi, so it is intended only for modern, strong lever-action and single-shot rifles, not older trapdoor Springfields or replicas.

Why Choose the DoubleTap 45-70 405gr Hardcast

• 405 grain Hardcast Solid flat nose bullet
• Rated 1810 fps, 2914 ft-lbs (22 in Marlin)
• Loaded to about 25,000 psi for modern rifles
• Hard alloy for straight, deep penetration
• 20 rounds per box, item 4570405HC

Built for Big Game and Bear Country

• Hunting bison, moose, elk and other large game where legal
• Protection from bears in the backcountry
• Guides and hunters who carry a lever gun
• Modern Marlin 1895, Henry and Ruger No. 1 style rifles

Heavy 45-70 loads produce stout recoil, so practice from a steady rest and confirm your point of impact before the hunt. Check local regulations for caliber and bullet requirements for the game you pursue.

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance DoubleTap builds into every cartridge.

Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the DoubleTap 45-70 405gr Hardcast until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.

Why Choose DoubleTap 45-70 Ammo

The 45-70 has been taking big game since the 1870s, and a heavy hardcast bullet at modern pressure turns it into a true heavy-game cartridge. DoubleTap rates this 405 grain load at 1810 fps and 2914 foot-pounds from a 22 inch Marlin, and the hard, non-expanding bullet keeps its weight so it can break heavy bone and penetrate deeply.

When you compare 45-70 hunting ammo, check your rifle first. This 45-70 405 grain hardcast load is loaded to about 25,000 psi, which is safe in modern lever actions like the Marlin 1895 and Henry, and in strong single-shot rifles, but it should never be fired in trapdoor Springfields, replicas or other older rifles.

DoubleTap Ammunition is an American company known for loading popular calibers to their full potential, especially the 10mm Auto and other magnum handgun rounds. Doubletap 45-70 ammo is loaded with quality components and brass cases, and many shooters choose it when they want the performance a caliber was designed for rather than a reduced-power range load.

Hunters, guides and anyone who carries a modern 45-70 in bear country will find this load a confident choice when penetration comes first. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for 45-70 Government, wear eye and ear protection, and follow all federal, state and local laws.
