Description
The Diamondback Sidekick 22 WMR is a revolver from Diamondback Firearms chambered in 22 WMR with a 5.50 inch barrel and a black cerakote finish. It holds 9 rounds. This listing is UPC 810035756052, Diamondback Firearms part number DB053CA001.
Diamondback Sidekick 22 WMR Overview
The Sidekick is a Diamondback revolver. Revolvers are simple to operate, work with a wide range of ammo and stay ready to fire with no magazine to load, which makes them a favorite for new shooters, home defense and the trail.
Action and Controls
The Sidekick runs on a double/single action system that breaks at about 2-16 lbs. It holds 9 rounds. The safety is hammer. Practice your trigger press and reloads until they feel natural.
Barrel and Sights
The 5.50 inch barrel is steel with a stainless steel profile and a 1:16″ RH twist. Sights are Blade Front/Integral Rear. Check that your front sight is crisp in focus as you press the trigger, which is the key to accuracy with any handgun.
Frame and Finish
The frame is zinc alloy. The finish is Black Cerakote. Grips are Black Checkered GFN.
Size and Carry
Overall length is 10.88″, height is 4.88″ and width is 1.38″. It weighs about 32.50 oz. That size gives a full grip and a longer sight radius for steady shooting at the range and at home.
Ammo and Practice
Feed this revolver quality factory ammo from a known brand. Shoot a few hundred rounds of practice ammo and at least a box of your chosen defensive load to confirm it runs reliably before you trust it for protection.
The 22 WMR
The 22 WMR has noticeably more energy than a 22 LR, which makes it a good small game and varmint round out to moderate range.
Home Defense and Range Use
This revolver is a solid choice for home defense, range practice and many kinds of competition. For home defense, keep it in a quick access safe and pick a quality defensive load.
Holsters and Accessories
Plan on a quality holster made for this exact model, a magazine pouch, a lock or quick access safe, and eye and ear protection. A weapon light and a red dot are popular upgrades if the gun is set up for them.
Buying Tips
Pick up extra magazines, a quality holster and plenty of practice ammo. If you are new to handguns, a basic safety class is a smart first step.
Care and Value
Clean the bore and action after each range trip or hunt, keep moving parts lightly oiled and wipe the finish after handling. A well kept Diamondback holds its value.
State Laws
Handgun laws vary by state, including magazine limits, approved roster lists and carry permits. Check your local law before you buy. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
