Description
The Derya Melik Gold 9mm 17 Round is the full-capacity version of Derya’s polished nickel showpiece. It pairs a gold PVD barrel and gold accents with mahogany dark wood grips, and ships with the standard 17-round magazine for 17+1 capacity.
Derya Melik Gold 9mm 17 Round Overview
Derya’s code for this version is MELIK9.NG.TR. Like the rest of the Melik line it is a full-size DA/SA 9mm with a decocker and ambidextrous controls, a 4.9 inch barrel, an 8.4 inch overall length, a 5.46 inch height and a weight of about two pounds. The open-top slide follows the classic Italian service pistol pattern. Our store title calls it the MK9; Derya calls the model the Melik.
Full Capacity
Seventeen rounds is standard capacity for a full-size double-stack 9mm and the most the Melik offers. If you live in a state without magazine limits, this is the most practical version for range days, since you spend less time loading.
Polished Nickel and Gold
The finish is the point of this pistol. Polished nickel resists corrosion well but shows fingerprints and scratches readily, and gold PVD parts can wear on high-contact edges with heavy use. Treat it as a show-and-shoot gun and store it in the supplied case.
Handling
An all-metal full-size frame and long sight radius make the Melik easy to shoot accurately, and the weight dampens recoil. The DA first-shot pull is long; after that it is single action until you decock. Ambidextrous controls suit left-handed shooters.
What Is Included
Derya ships the Melik Gold with a hard case, cleaning rod, brush and manual. Spare 17-round magazines are sold by Derya, and the 10 and 15-round versions are available for restricted states. Plan on a few hundred rounds of quality brass-cased ammunition before you rely on it, and clean and lubricate the slide rails after that first range session so the polished parts stay protected.
Fair Warnings
Derya is newer to the US than the legacy brands, so holster selection is narrower and resale value lower. At two pounds empty, plus 17 rounds, it is a heavy carry gun; most buyers will use it at home and at the range.
State Laws and Ownership
Full-capacity magazines are restricted in roughly a dozen states, including New Jersey, New York, Illinois and Colorado. The Melik Gold is not on the California roster and is not Massachusetts compliant. Buyers in restricted states should choose the 10 or 15-round version and confirm local rules before ordering.
