Description
The CZ Custom A01-LD OR is the Carry Optics build of the A01 line: a hammer forged steel frame, a 4.925 inch match grade bull barrel in 9mm Luger, nineteen rounds on board, and a slide cut from the factory for a red dot. It is put together by hand in Mesa, Arizona, and it is aimed squarely at the shooter who already knows which optic is going on top.
How the CZ Custom A01-LD OR Is Set Up
The CZ Custom A01-LD OR slide is CNC machined from 4140 bar stock, serrated front and rear, and milled for the CZ Custom proprietary plate system. That is worth stating plainly before you order: the gun ships with no plate and no iron sights. You choose the plate that matches your optic, which is why the cut is the same regardless of whether you run a Delta Point Pro, a Razor or a Holosun. The plate is a separate purchase.
Underneath, the CZ Custom A01-LD OR frame is the same piece that made the A01 family what it is. Hammer forged, CNC machined and finished in black polycoat, with a long dustcover that puts a serious amount of steel out ahead of your hands. A deep beavertail, an undercut trigger guard, 25 LPI checkering and an internal magwell complete the grip package, and black G10 panels handle the rest.
The CZ Custom A01-LD OR trigger arrives finished. Hammer and sear are pinned directly into the frame rather than sitting in a removable trigger group, which takes a layer of tolerance stacking out of the equation. Double action runs 8 to 8.5 pounds, single action 3 to 3.5, and the reset is short. There is nothing here that a gunsmith needs to touch before your first match.
Capacity, Barrel and What to Expect on the Clock
Nineteen rounds plus one in the chamber puts a CZ Custom A01-LD OR comfortably over Carry Optics division minimums without a magazine extension. It uses the P-07, P-09 and P-10 magazine family, so spares are common and reasonably priced. Two magazines ship in the box, which is a better starting point than most guns at this level offer.
The CZ Custom A01-LD OR barrel is a 416 stainless match grade bull profile at 4.925 inches, fitted without a bushing. What that buys you is repeatable lockup, which is the part of mechanical accuracy you actually notice when you start calling shots at distance. Combined with the weight forward dustcover, the gun tracks flat and returns to the same place.
Be realistic about what an optic cut asks of you. Without irons, a dead battery or a fogged lens leaves you with nothing to aim with, so carry a spare battery and consider whether suppressor height sights belong in your plan. This configuration exists to win matches, not to sit in a nightstand.

Who This Build Is For
Carry Optics competitors are the obvious buyer. A CZ Custom A01-LD OR removes the two jobs that usually hold up a new match gun, namely milling the slide and sorting out the trigger, and it does both before the gun leaves Arizona.
A CZ Custom A01-LD OR is also a reasonable answer for a shooter moving from a factory optics ready pistol who wants more weight and a better trigger without commissioning custom work. The steel frame changes how the gun recoils more than any spring or grip tape ever will.
What it is not is a first pistol or a budget option. A CZ Custom A01-LD OR costs real money before you have bought the plate, the optic and the magazines to fill a belt, and none of that spending makes a new shooter faster. Fundamentals first, hardware second.
If a CZ Custom A01-LD OR is more than the division requires, the standard A01-LD with iron sights covers the same ground for less, and the compact A01-C is the one that can actually be carried. Practical notes before you order. Buy the CZ Custom plate that matches your specific optic footprint at the same time, because the gun is not usable without it. Order four or five spare magazines if you are shooting a full match season.
Confirm the part number, 96336, against any holster you already own, since the long dustcover will not fit shells cut for a standard CZ. Full factory details are published on the CZ Custom product page, and you can compare this build against the standard CZ Custom A01-LD or browse our other semi-automatic handguns.
