Description
The CZ A01-LD 9mm is what happens when CZ Custom takes the CZ 75 platform and builds it the way competition shooters actually want it. A match grade bull barrel, a tuned trigger, 25 LPI checkering and a fiber optic front sight all come standard, and two nineteen-round magazines ship in the box.

Why the CZ A01-LD 9mm Shoots Above Its Price
The CZ 75 pattern has always had two great advantages: a low bore axis and a slide that rides inside the frame rails. The CZ A01-LD 9mm exploits both. The slide-in-frame arrangement gives an unusually long bearing surface, which translates to a locked-up, consistent barrel position shot after shot. Add a heavy steel frame at 51.2 ounces and muzzle rise nearly disappears.
Match Grade Bull Barrel
The 4.93-inch bull barrel is thicker and heavier than a standard profile, which improves harmonics and adds forward weight where it helps most. Combined with the blued serrated steel slide, the CZ A01-LD 9mm balances slightly nose-heavy, exactly what you want when driving between targets on a stage.
Tuned Double and Single Action Trigger
The CZ A01-LD 9mm is a hammer-fired pistol with both a double-action first shot and a light, short single-action pull for everything after. CZ Custom polishes the internals and fits the components, so the reset is short and the break is clean. A manual safety rather than a decocker means you can carry cocked and locked if you prefer.
Grip, Checkering and Magwell
Twenty-five lines per inch of checkering on the CZ A01-LD 9mm front strap gives real purchase without shredding skin, and the internal magwell funnels magazines in cleanly during a reload. The beavertail protects the hand from the hammer, and the checkered polymer grip panels can be swapped for aluminum or wood if you want more weight.
Sights and Accessory Rail
A fiber optic front sight pairs with a low-mount adjustable rear, so the CZ A01-LD 9mm arrives ready to zero for your load. An integral accessory rail under the dust cover accepts a light, which is unusual on a competition-oriented pistol and makes it more versatile than most.

Who Should Buy It
Competition shooters in production and limited divisions, CZ fans who want a factory-tuned gun rather than a project, and anyone who values a soft-shooting steel 9mm will be well served. It is also a superb high-volume training pistol, since the weight and the trigger make good technique easy to feel. Many owners report that the CZ A01-LD 9mm shoots tighter groups than pistols costing twice as much.
The trade-offs are straightforward. At 51.2 ounces this is a heavy handgun and a poor candidate for concealed carry. There is no optic cut, so a red dot requires slide milling or a frame mount. CZ magazines and aftermarket parts are less common on store shelves than Glock or 1911 components, and holster options for a bull-barrel A01 are limited to competition rigs. The double-action first shot takes practice to shoot well, and blued steel demands more attention to rust prevention than a coated slide.
For range and competition use, few pistols in this price bracket shoot as well. Browse more handguns in our firearms catalog, or view the factory listing at CZ-USA.
