Description
The Combat Armory CA10 Billet Lower (STP.CA10.Lower.BLK) is a stripped AR-10 lower receiver machined from a solid block of 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in black anodizing. It follows the DPMS-style .308 pattern, with a flared magwell and a Magpul-style trigger guard machined into the receiver.
Combat Armory CA10 Billet Lower Overview
Combat Armory sells the CA10 as a mil-spec billet receiver for .308 Winchester and 7.62×51 builds. Billet machining allows features a forging cannot, such as the integral trigger guard and the flared magwell, at the cost of being slightly less uniform in grain structure than a forging. For a semi-automatic sporting or range rifle that difference is academic.
AR-10 Is Not One Standard
Unlike the AR-15, the .308 AR family never settled on one pattern. The CA10 is DPMS style, so it pairs with DPMS-pattern uppers, handguards and magazines such as Magpul PMAG LR/SR. Armalite AR-10 parts generally do not fit. DPMS-pattern uppers also come in low and high profile versions, so confirm your upper’s profile and test the fit before final assembly.
Integral Trigger Guard and Magwell
The machined Magpul-style trigger guard cannot fall out or break a roll pin ear, and it leaves room for gloved fingers. The flared magwell guides magazines in during fast reloads. Both are things you would otherwise add with separate parts.
Build Notes
You will need an AR-10 lower parts kit, a rifle-length or carbine AR-10 buffer system, and a stock. Check buffer weight against your gas system; .308 builds are more sensitive to gas and buffer tuning than 5.56 builds. Expect to test with several brands of ammunition.

Finish and Fit
Billet receivers have sharp, flat surfaces that show handling marks. Use padded vise blocks during assembly. Anodized blacks vary between makers, so your upper may not match exactly.
Maker Restrictions
Combat Armory states that it requires buyers to be 21 or older and does not ship this receiver to Massachusetts or Cook County, Illinois. Other states have their own limits on .308 AR-type builds, so check before you buy.
Parts Availability
DPMS-style .308 parts are the most common in the large-frame AR market, so lower parts kits, buffer tubes and stocks are easy to find. Some aftermarket ambidextrous controls and specialty triggers are made for specific receivers, so check compatibility before you buy upgrades.
State Laws and Ownership
States such as California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Washington and Illinois restrict AR-type rifles, receiver transfers or magazine capacity, and some cities add their own rules. Plan the entire build to comply with your local law, and ask your receiving FFL to confirm the transfer.

Before You Buy
Federal law treats a stripped lower receiver as a firearm because it carries the serial number, so it must ship to a licensed FFL dealer, where you will complete ATF Form 4473 and a background check. Dealers transfer receivers like this only to buyers 21 or older. Some states and cities restrict AR-type builds or require registration, so confirm with your receiving FFL before you order.
Who It Is For
The Combat Armory CA10 Billet Lower is a great fit for builders starting a DPMS-pattern .308 rifle, hunters and precision shooters assembling a big-bore AR, and anyone who wants integral magwell and trigger guard features on a budget receiver.
