Cimarron El Malo 2 45 Colt Overview
The El Malo 2 is a Cimarron revolver. Revolvers are simple to operate, work with a wide range of ammo and stay ready to fire with no magazine to load, which makes them a favorite for new shooters, home defense and the trail.
Action and Controls
The El Malo 2 runs on a Single Action system. It holds 6 rounds. The safety is hammer. Practice your trigger press and reloads until they feel natural.
Barrel and Sights
The 3.50 inch barrel is steel with an octagon profile and a 1:16″ twist. Sights are Fixed. Check that your front sight is crisp in focus as you press the trigger, which is the key to accuracy with any handgun.
Frame and Finish
The frame is built for years of use. The finish is Color Case Hardened. Grips are Smooth Walnut.
Size and Carry
Overall length is 9.9″, height is 5.8″. It weighs about 2.95 lbs. That size works well for concealed carry with the right holster.
Ammo and Practice
Feed this revolver quality factory ammo from a known brand. Shoot a few hundred rounds of practice ammo and at least a box of your chosen defensive load to confirm it runs reliably before you trust it for protection.
The 45 Colt
The 45 Colt is a classic big bore round with plenty of mild cowboy loads and heavier hunting loads.
Concealed Carry and Defense
This revolver is sized for concealed carry. Pair it with a quality holster and a sturdy belt, and practice your draw with an unloaded gun before you carry. For home defense, keep it in a quick access safe.
Holsters and Accessories
Plan on a quality holster made for this exact model, a magazine pouch, a lock or quick access safe, and eye and ear protection. A weapon light and a red dot are popular upgrades if the gun is set up for them.
Buying Tips
Pick up extra magazines, a quality holster and plenty of practice ammo. If you are new to handguns, a basic safety class is a smart first step.
Care and Value
Clean the bore and action after each range trip or hunt, keep moving parts lightly oiled and wipe the finish after handling. A well kept Cimarron holds its value.
State Laws
Handgun laws vary by state, including magazine limits, approved roster lists and carry permits. Check your local law before you buy. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
