Description

The Christensen Arms Traverse 22-250 is the stainless barrelled member of the Christensen Arms line, built for shooters who want the carbon composite stock and the sub MOA guarantee without paying for a carbon wrapped barrel. In 22-250 Remington it is a flat shooting varmint and predator rifle.
Christensen Arms Traverse 22-250 Barrel and Muzzle
The 24 in. barrel is natural finish stainless steel, hand lapped and match chambered. Stainless is the right choice for a cartridge like this, because 22-250 burns a lot of powder behind a small bullet and a high volume varmint session is hard on a barrel. Stainless simply lasts longer under that kind of heat.
Rifling is a 1:14 twist, the traditional pitch for 22-250 and the correct one for the 50 to 55 grain bullets that give the cartridge its famous flat trajectory and explosive terminal effect on varmints. The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 on this chambering, and a removable stainless side baffle brake is fitted.
Action, Stock and Trigger
The receiver is precision machined on the Remington 700 pattern, so scope bases, bottom metal, triggers and aftermarket stocks all fit without adapters. That matters more on a varmint rifle than on most, because it is a rifle people tinker with.
The stock is carbon fiber composite in a Monte Carlo profile with a raised comb, finished black with grey webbing. The raised comb puts your eye behind a high mounted varmint scope without a strap on cheekpiece, and the carbon shell resists the flex that opens groups from a bipod. A TriggerTech trigger provides a clean, creep free break.

What 22-250 Remington Does Best
22-250 has been the benchmark varmint cartridge since the 1960s. It pushes a 55 grain bullet past 3600 feet per second, which flattens trajectory so completely that a single zero covers most practical varmint distances without holdover.
On coyotes and prairie dogs the terminal effect is dramatic, and recoil is light enough that you can watch the impact through the scope and correct immediately. The tradeoff is barrel life, since the cartridge runs hot, and the slow 1:14 twist keeps you in light bullets rather than the heavy match projectiles a modern 22 Creedmoor would use.
Why Buyers Choose the Christensen Arms Traverse 22-250
A carbon composite stock, a match chambered stainless barrel, a TriggerTech trigger and a sub MOA guarantee is a specification most makers reserve for rifles costing considerably more. The Traverse gets there by using a stainless barrel instead of a carbon wrapped one, which for a varmint rifle is arguably the better choice anyway.
The Remington 700 footprint also means nothing about this rifle is a dead end. Stocks, chassis, triggers and bottom metal are all off the shelf if your needs change.
Who Should Buy It
The Christensen Arms Traverse 22-250 suits predator and varmint hunters who shoot in volume, ranchers who want one accurate rifle for coyotes, and anyone who wants a Christensen Arms rifle in a chambering that will not eat a barrel in eight hundred rounds. Pair it with a high magnification scope and a bipod and it is finished.
