CCI 9mm 124gr FMJ Overview
CCI, based in Lewiston, Idaho, is one of the best-known names in rimfire ammunition and also makes the Blazer line of centerfire range ammunition.
Bullet Design
A full metal jacket bullet has a copper jacket over a lead core. It does not expand, feeds very reliably and keeps costs low, which makes it the standard choice for practice, training and high-volume shooting.
Intended Use
Full metal jacket and lead practice loads are the workhorses of handgun training. They feed smoothly, cost less than defensive ammunition and let you put in the repetitions that build accuracy and confidence during range sessions, drills and matches.
Firearm Compatibility
Use this ammunition only in firearms chambered for 9mm Luger. Check the marking on your barrel or slide before loading, and never fire it in a firearm chambered for a different cartridge.
Recoil and Handling
Recoil depends on the bullet weight, the load and the size of your handgun. Practice with your chosen load until follow-up shots feel natural, and pay attention to your grip and stance.
Accuracy and Consistency
Every firearm has its own preferences, so test a few groups with this load at your usual distance and confirm your point of impact. Once you find a load your firearm likes, sticking with it builds confidence and keeps your results consistent.
About the Bullet Weight
This is a middle-of-the-road bullet weight for the cartridge, balancing velocity, recoil and penetration. Point of impact can shift when you change bullet weights, so confirm your zero any time you switch loads.
Why Ammunition Quality Matters
Small differences in cases, primers, powder charges and bullets add up to big differences on target. Quality ammunition ignites reliably, feeds and extracts smoothly, and delivers consistent velocity from shot to shot, which shows up as tighter groups and fewer malfunctions. That consistency is what lets you trust where each shot will land.
Practice and Preparation
Confidence comes from repetition. Spend time with your firearm and this load before you rely on it, practice from the positions you are most likely to use, and keep track of how it groups. Clean and inspect your firearm regularly so it stays dependable, and always wear eye and ear protection when you shoot.
Choosing the Right Load
Match the load to the job. Full metal jacket and lead loads are built for practice, expanding bullets for hunting and personal protection, and match bullets for paper. Think about your typical distance, the size of the target and what lies beyond it, then pick a load and practice with it so you know where it hits.
Storage and Care
Store ammunition in a cool, dry place in its original boxes, away from solvents and lubricants that can contaminate primers. Inspect each round before loading, and set aside any with dented cases, loose bullets or corrosion.
