Browning X-Bolt 2 Hells Canyon PRC 24 Overview
The X-Bolt 2 is the second generation of the Browning X-Bolt, keeping the proven action while adding the DLX trigger and refined ergonomics. The X-Bolt 2 Hell’s Canyon McMillan LR is the second generation of this long range hunter, with a McMillan fiberglass stock in OVIX camo, Smoked Bronze Cerakote on the metal, a fluted heavy sporter barrel and a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake.
Action and Bolt
The short action X-Bolt action has a 60 degree bolt lift, so the bolt clears a low mounted scope and cycles quickly. A bolt unlock button lets you open the action with the safety on to unload safely. The top tang safety sits right under your thumb, and the detachable rotary magazine sits flush with the stock.
Barrel and Muzzle
The 24 inch steel barrel has a heavy sporter contour, a 1 in 7 inch twist and a 5/8 – 24 SR threaded muzzle. The barrel is free floated for consistent accuracy. A muzzle brake cuts recoil a lot, but it is loud, so always wear hearing protection and warn hunting partners beside you.
Trigger
