Description
The Browning Maxus II Ultimate 12 Gauge 26 is a gas-operated semi-automatic 12 gauge with a 26-inch barrel, a 3-inch chamber, a Grade III oil-finished Turkish walnut stock, and a satin nickel receiver with scroll engraving. It pairs fast, soft-shooting performance with the kind of looks that make it the star of the gun rack.

Browning Maxus II Ultimate 12 Gauge 26 Overview
The Maxus II is Browning’s flagship gas-operated semi-auto, and the Ultimate is its most refined version. Browning combines the Maxus II’s proven operating system and handling features with upgraded wood, cut checkering, and an engraved receiver. It is equally at home on a dove field, in an upland covert, or at the sporting clays course, and it ships in an ABS hard case.
Gas Operating System
The Power Drive gas system vents excess gas and reduces felt recoil while cycling a wide range of loads, from light target shells to heavy field loads. Gas guns typically recoil more softly than inertia designs, which makes long days at the range more comfortable. Keep the piston and gas ports clean for best reliability.

Trigger and Controls
The Lightning Trigger is crisp and fast, with a short reset. Oversized bolt handle and bolt release buttons are easy to operate, and a ramped trigger guard helps guide your finger safely to the trigger. The magazine cut-off lets you swap the shell in the chamber without cycling the magazine, handy when switching loads in the field.
Loading and Magazine
Speed Load Plus sends the first shell loaded into the magazine straight to the chamber. The TurnKey magazine plug can be removed without disassembling the forend, and a lightweight magazine tube and screw-on cap round out the system. Capacity is four 2 3/4-inch shells.

Barrel and Chokes
The back-bored barrel has a chromed chamber and bore for smoother patterns and easier cleaning. It comes with three flush Invector-Plus chokes in Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. A fiber-optic front sight and ivory mid-bead give a fast, accurate sight picture, and the gun is set for a flat 50/50 point of impact.
Stock and Fit
The Grade III Turkish walnut stock has a vertical grip, 22 lines-per-inch cut checkering, and an oil finish. Shims adjust cast, drop, and length of pull, and a SoftFlex cheek pad and Inflex II recoil pad add comfort. Walnut needs a little more care than synthetic, so wipe it down after wet hunts.
Engraved Nickel Receiver
The aluminum alloy receiver is nickel plated with a satin finish and scroll engraving, giving the gun a premium look while keeping weight to about 7 pounds 1 ounce. Nickel Teflon coating on internal parts reduces friction and resists corrosion.
State Laws
Some states set rules on magazine capacity or hunting seasons. Check your local regulations, and your receiving FFL dealer can help confirm the gun is legal where you live.
