Description
The Browning Buck Mark Vision Gold Vortex is a 22 LR semi auto pistol from the Browning Buck Mark family with a 5 7/8 inch lightweight Vision barrel and black composite UFX grips with rubber overmolding. This listing is UPC 023614853954, Browning item 051582490. It weighs about 27 oz, measures 9 9/10 inches overall and holds 10 rounds in its single stack magazine. This package includes a Vortex Crossfire red dot sight.
Browning Buck Mark Vision Gold Vortex Overview
The Buck Mark has been the Browning 22 pistol since 1985 and is one of the best selling rimfire handguns in America. Every version shares a one piece machined aluminum receiver, a straight blowback action and a crisp single action trigger, which is why you see Buck Marks at bullseye matches as often as in tackle boxes and truck consoles. The Vision line uses a lightweight sleeved barrel with cutouts in the aluminum outer sleeve, and it comes threaded for a suppressor.
Barrel
The 5 7/8 inch barrel is a lightweight Vision barrel with a anodized black finish. The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 for a suppressor or other muzzle device. Suppressors are still NFA items that need an approved ATF Form 4, and they must be legal in your state.
Sights
Browning lists the front sight as Fiber Optic and the rear sight as Windage Adjustable, with a sight radius of 8 1/4 inches. The rear sight adjusts so you can zero for your favorite ammunition. The included Vortex Crossfire red dot speeds up target pickup, and the iron sights co-witness through it.
Grips
This model wears black composite UFX grips with rubber overmolding. The grip angle feels natural in most hands, and plenty of aftermarket grips fit if you want to change the look or feel later.
Blowback Action and Single Action Trigger
The Buck Mark uses a simple straight blowback action, with no locking parts, which suits the low pressure 22 LR. The single action trigger breaks cleanly with little creep and resets quickly. A manual thumb safety sits at the rear of the frame.
Magazine
The single stack magazine holds 10 rounds of 22 LR. Spare Buck Mark magazines are easy to find, and two or three extras make range days more fun.
Key Features
Browning highlights these features: vortex® Crossfire® Red Dot Sight with new co-witness sights included, lightweight Vision barrel with all black aluminum outer sleeve and Cerakote Gold finish on inner steel barrel, 1/2″-28 suppressor threads, muzzle brake supplied, black composite UFX grips with rubber overmolding, tRUGLO® fiber-optic front sight, includes pistol rug.
Where the Buck Mark Fits
A Buck Mark is a natural first pistol, a plinker for the range, a trail gun for small game and a training tool for new shooters. 22 LR is cheap, quiet and has almost no recoil, so you can shoot a lot and build good habits.
Ammunition
Most Buck Marks run best on high velocity 36 to 40 grain round nose ammunition. Standard velocity loads are quieter and often more accurate but may not cycle every pistol, so try a few brands.
Cleaning
A bore snake from the muzzle handles routine cleaning. Full takedown means removing the top rib screws, so follow the owner manual and keep track of each screw. Rimfire ammunition is dirty, so clean the breech face and chamber area often to keep it reliable.
State Laws
Handgun rules vary by state, including approved rosters and magazine limits. We can only ship to an FFL where this pistol is legal to sell. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
