Browning Buck Mark Plus Urx 22LR Overview
The Buck Mark is one of the best selling 22 LR pistols in America, known for accuracy, a crisp trigger and a one piece aluminum receiver with a top rail for optics. It is a favorite for target shooting, small game and teaching new shooters. This version is the Buck Mark Plus URX.
Frame, Slide and Finish
This pistol has a matte gray finish on the frame and a matte blued finish on the barrel. The one piece receiver has an integral top rail for a red dot or scope.
Barrel and Sights
The 5 9/10 inch barrel gives a 8 inch sight radius. It wears a truglo fiber optic front sight and a white outline pro-target rear sight. Rimfire pistols can be picky about ammo, so try a few high velocity round nose loads to find what your pistol likes best.
Magazine and Capacity
The pistol holds 10 rounds in the magazine. Load rimfire magazines carefully so each rim sits ahead of the one below it, which prevents feeding problems. Some states limit magazine capacity, so check your local law.
Key Features
Browning highlights these features: 5.9″ matte blued barrel with machined Browning logo; matte gray anodized alloy frame; 1/2″-28 SR threads, muzzle brake supplied; uRX grips with black rubber overmolding; 16-click adjustable Pro-Target; rear sight; green fiber-optic front sight; picatinny optics rail.
The 22 LR
The 22 LR is cheap, quiet and has almost no recoil, which makes it the best round for practice, new shooters and plinking. It is not a defensive caliber.
Uses
This pistol is ideal for target practice, informal matches, small game where legal and for teaching new shooters the basics of safe handling.
Buying Tips
Before you buy, think about how you will use the pistol. A full size model is easier to shoot well and has a longer sight radius, while a compact model is easier to carry and store. Pick up extra magazines, a good holster or range bag and plenty of ammo, and plan time at the range to learn the trigger and controls. If you are new to handguns, a basic safety class is a smart first step.
Care
Clean the pistol after each range trip, since rimfire ammo leaves a lot of fouling. Keep the slide rails lightly oiled and wipe the finish after handling.
State Laws
Handgun transfers require a dealer background check, and some states have handgun rosters or permit rules. Buyers must be 21 or older to buy a handgun from a dealer. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
