Browning A5 Sweet Sixteen MOSGH 28 Inch Overview
The Sweet Sixteen name goes back to the classic Browning Auto-5 in 16 gauge, a favorite of bird hunters for generations. The modern A5 Sweet Sixteen brings it back with the recoil operated Kinematic Drive action, and the Wicked Wing package adds the coatings and controls that waterfowlers want. The 16 gauge sits between the 20 and the 12: lighter to carry than a 12, with more payload than a 20.
Kinematic Drive Action
Kinematic Drive is a short recoil inertia design. The bolt and barrel use recoil energy to cycle the action, which keeps carbon out of the receiver and lets the gun run clean in cold, wet weather. Like any inertia gun, it needs a firm shoulder to cycle reliably, so mount the gun properly.
Burnt Bronze Cerakote
The barrel and receiver wear Burnt Bronze Cerakote, a ceramic based coating that resists rust, scratches and salt water far better than bluing. That matters on a duck boat or in a flooded timber hole where your gun stays wet all day.
Wicked Wing Controls
Browning fits oversized controls so you can work the gun with cold hands or gloves, and the composite stock has textured grip panels and an Inflex 2 recoil pad. Browning lists a 14 1/4 inch length of pull and fits a fiber optic front sight.
Extended Invector-DS Chokes

16 Gauge Ammunition
16 gauge shells are not stocked as widely as 12 or 20 gauge, especially non toxic waterfowl loads, so buy ammunition before the season starts. This gun has a 2 3/4 inch chamber, so do not use longer shells.

Federal law limits migratory bird hunting to three shells total, so install the magazine plug before you hunt ducks, geese or doves. Check your state rules as well.
Cleaning and Care
Even with Cerakote, rinse and dry the gun after salt water or mud, and keep a light coat of oil on internal parts. Clean the choke threads so the tubes do not seize.
