Description
The BP Next 12 GA 1 oz 7.5 Target Load is a competition-style clay shell from Baschieri and Pellagri, made in Italy and sold in the US under the B and P name. It loads 1 ounce of #7.5 shot in a 2-3/4 inch hull at 1,250 fps and uses the company Green Core wad. Each box holds 25 rounds.
What You Get With the BP Next 12 GA 1 oz 7.5 Target Load
A 1 ounce load at 1,250 fps is one of the most popular recipes in clay shooting. It is fast enough to break targets cleanly at trap and sporting clays distances, yet light enough to keep recoil comfortable over a 100 or 200 target day. Many experienced shooters consider it the ideal balance for sporting clays shells.
B and P is known worldwide for its target loads, and its hulls, primers and wads are used by serious competitors. The Next line is aimed at shooters who want that quality at a practice-friendly price point.
The Green Core wad is a biodegradable design intended to break down over time rather than littering ranges and fields with plastic. For clubs and landowners, that is a meaningful benefit.
On the Range With the BP Next 12 GA 1 oz 7.5 Target Load
As trap shooting ammo, #7.5 shot is the standard choice from the 16 yard line through handicap distances, and it works well for most sporting clays presentations. For close skeet stations, some shooters switch to #8 or #9 for a denser pattern; B and P offers the same Next load in #8 as well.
Choke selection matters more than small differences between brands. Improved modified or full is common for trap, while skeet and improved cylinder suit skeet and close sporting clays targets. Pattern a few shells at 30 to 35 yards to understand how the load performs in your gun.
A 1250 fps target load like this generally cycles gas semi-automatics reliably, but new guns sometimes need a break-in period with heavier loads first. These are lead loads, so follow range rules on shot type and always wear eye and ear protection.
