Description
The Bergara Premier HMR Pro 25 Creedmoor is a Premier Series bolt-action rifle chambered in 25 Creedmoor, built on Bergara USA-made Premier action. This configuration (Bergara model BPR20-25CM, UPC 043125000807) has a 24-inch Cerakoted stainless steel barrel, an adjustable HMR stock with integrated mini-chassis and an AICS-style detachable magazine, and it weighs about 9.5 pounds.
Bergara Premier HMR Pro 25 Creedmoor Overview
The HMR Pro, short for Hunting and Match Rifle, is a staple of the Bergara lineup. Its stock has an integrated mini-chassis for repeatable bedding and supports a fully free-floated barrel, so it shoots tight groups whether you are on a ridge or at a PRS-style match. It carries a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee with quality factory ammunition.
A Refined Two-Lug Action
The Premier action is a two-lug design with a separate floating bolt head that ensures full contact with the lug abutments, plus a coned bolt nose and breech for smooth feeding. It fits Remington 700 style scope bases with 8-40 screws. The one-piece stainless bolt body has a threaded-in handle, and the bolt head, gas shield and shroud are nitrided for durability.
Adjustable Mini-Chassis Stock
The stock adds an adjustable cheek piece and length-of-pull spacers so you can set a perfect cheek weld behind a large scope, plus integrated QD flush-cup sling mounts and swivel studs for slings and bipods. The stainless barrel goes through extra honing and quality checks, then is Cerakoted and assembled in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Why the 25 Creedmoor
The 25 Creedmoor takes the efficient 6.5 Creedmoor case and necks it to fire high-BC .257 caliber bullets. It shoots flatter than the 6.5 Creedmoor with similar mild recoil, and it carries plenty of energy for deer, pronghorn and black bear at practical hunting distances.
AICS Magazine
The rifle feeds from an AICS-style detachable magazine, so reloads are fast and spare magazines are easy to find from many makers. It holds 5 rounds in this chambering.
Setup and Optics
Mount a quality scope on a 20 MOA base so you have plenty of elevation for distant targets. A first focal plane scope in the 4-16x to 6-24x range is a good match. Set the comb so your eye lines up with the scope without lifting your head, then adjust length of pull for proper eye relief.
Practice in the Field
Once zeroed at 100 yards, confirm your drops at several distances with the exact load you plan to use. Practice from prone, from a tripod and off a pack so field positions feel familiar long before the season starts.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean the bore with a quality copper solvent every few range sessions, wipe the bolt and lugs, and put a light coat of grease on the locking lugs. Check action screw torque once in a while to keep the rifle shooting its best.
Safe Storage at Home
Store the rifle unloaded in a locked safe or cabinet with ammunition kept separately, and teach everyone in the household basic safety rules.
