RTM Carbon Sporter Stock and Mini-Chassis
The stock is made through a resin transfer molding process that produces a 100 percent carbon fiber shell weighing about 18 ounces. Inside, an SMC carbon mini-chassis gives the action a solid, repeatable bedding platform and adds stiffness without extra weight. The black finish with gray sponge accents offers a secure grip in rain and cold.
CURE Carbon Barrel With Omni Brake
Bergara’s CURE barrel solved the old carbon barrel problem of inconsistency by managing heat between the steel liner and carbon sleeve, so it stays straight, stiff and accurate shot after shot. The No. 6 taper is threaded 5/8×24 and ships with the Omni muzzle brake, which tames recoil in a rifle this light. The same threads accept a suppressor.
Flat-Shooting 22 Creedmoor
The 22 Creedmoor necks the 6.5 Creedmoor case down to fire long, high-BC .224 caliber bullets at very high velocity. It shoots remarkably flat with light recoil, making it a favorite for coyotes, prairie dogs and other varmints at long range, and with heavy-for-caliber bullets many hunters also use it on deer-sized game where legal. It runs on the standard short action, so it pairs perfectly with a rifle as light as this one.
Setup and Care
Pair the rifle with a compact, lightweight scope and solid rings to keep the whole package trim, then zero at 100 yards and record drops at several distances with the load you plan to hunt with. After a wet day, wipe the rifle down, run a dry patch through the bore and let it air out of the case overnight. Check the action screws and scope mounts before every season.
