Description
The Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 10 Round is the compliant-capacity version of Beretta’s rotating-barrel compact, and the magazine is the only thing that has changed. The 3.27-inch barrel, the rotating locking system, the Picatinny rail, the interchangeable backstraps and the ambidextrous controls are all identical to the fifteen-round gun, and it is lawful to own in every state.
This is part number JXC9F20. If you live under a ten-round limit or you move between states often enough that you would rather not check each time, the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 10 Round removes the question.
What the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 10 Round keeps
- The rotating-barrel action, which is the whole reason to buy a PX4
- The full 3.27-inch barrel and the same frame dimensions
- A Picatinny rail moulded into the dust cover for a light
- Interchangeable backstraps, so the grip can be fitted to the hand
- Fully ambidextrous safety and decocker levers

Why the rotating barrel matters most on a small gun
- A compact pistol is light, and a light pistol rises more between shots
- The rotating action converts recoil into rotation rather than muzzle lift
- Sights return faster, which is the difference between two aimed shots and one
- The effect is more noticeable here than on the heavier full-size PX4
- Recoil energy is unchanged; only the direction it is delivered in changes

Backstraps and where your shots land
The Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 10 Round ships with interchangeable backstraps, which is not a cosmetic feature. Grip circumference decides where the pad of the trigger finger contacts the trigger, and that decides whether shots go left or right of centre.
Fit each one and shoot a magazine. With a firm grip the trigger finger should reach the trigger face without dragging the frame, and the bore should sit in line with the forearm. If reaching the trigger breaks the grip, use a smaller backstrap.
Ammunition for a short barrel
A 3.27-inch barrel gives up velocity against a full-size gun, and defensive bullets are designed to expand within a velocity window. Most current designs work from a barrel this length, but not all do, so put a full box of your chosen carry load through the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 10 Round before relying on it.
For volume practice, CCI Blazer Brass keeps the cost sensible. Cartridge dimensions and maximum pressures are published by SAAMI.
Magazines and the law
The Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 10 Round ships with ten-round magazines and is therefore lawful everywhere. It is a standard PX4 Storm Compact underneath, so full-capacity magazines fit wherever those are permitted.
Capacity rules differ by state and occasionally by municipality, and they change. Check your own before ordering spares rather than before ordering the pistol.
Why this pistol earns its place
- Lawful capacity in every state with no reduction in barrel, frame or features
- A rotating-barrel action that no competitor offers in this size and price bracket
- The Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 10 Round has interchangeable backstraps and fully ambidextrous controls
- A decocker and double-action first shot, which suits carry better than a striker
- Beretta’s parts and service network in the United States is deeper than most competitors
The Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 10 Round suits a shooter in a capacity-restricted state who still wants a soft-shooting carry pistol. Where full capacity is lawful the fifteen-round Compact is the same gun, and for home defence the full-size PX4 is the better choice.
