Beretta APX A1 Ported 10 Round 9mm 4.25in OD Green — Superb Compliant Pistol

Description

The Beretta APX A1 Ported 10 Round is the compliant-capacity version of Beretta’s ported full-size pistol, and the magazine is the only thing that has been reduced. The 4.25-inch ported barrel, the matching ported OD Green slide, the factory optic cut, the Picatinny rail and the ambidextrous controls are all exactly as they are on the higher-capacity guns.

This is part number JAXA1F910PTODG. If your state caps magazines at ten rounds, the Beretta APX A1 Ported 10 Round gives you the flatter-tracking ported pistol without a legal question attached to it.

What the Beretta APX A1 Ported 10 Round keeps

• A fully ported 4.25-inch barrel with a slide ported to match
• The factory optic cut, machined into the slide rather than added later
• The Picatinny rail on the frame for a weapon light
• Ambidextrous controls and the same textured grip as the higher-capacity versions
• The full-size grip, so all three fingers are on the gun

Porting matters more, not less, at ten rounds

• Ten-round divisions reward accurate fast follow-up shots because there is no margin to spare
• Ports vent gas upward at the muzzle, so the sights settle sooner between shots
• A lawful-everywhere pistol is one you can take to a match in any state
• Full-capacity magazines fit where they are legal, so the gun is not permanently limited
• Nothing about grip length or barrel length has been reduced to hit the capacity

Ports, dots and what you will notice

Put a red dot on the Beretta APX A1 Ported 10 Round and the porting stops being an abstraction. The dot shows how far the muzzle rises and how quickly it returns, and on a ported barrel it returns visibly sooner. The optic cut is machined into the slide at the factory, so it holds zero; adapter plates are footprint-specific and sold separately.

For practice, CCI Blazer Brass is the economical choice. Cartridge dimensions and maximum pressures are published by SAAMI; ported barrels lose a small amount of velocity, which is worth knowing but rarely worth worrying about.

What porting costs, and keeping it clean

Gas and unburnt powder vent upward through the ports, so muzzle flash is more visible in low light and shooting from a retention position deserves thought. Carbon also collects in the cuts, and a fouled port vents less than a clean one.

Run a nylon brush and solvent through the ports on the Beretta APX A1 Ported 10 Round every few hundred rounds. Otherwise maintenance is the same as any striker-fired pistol.

Why this pistol earns its place

• Lawful capacity in every state with no reduction in barrel, grip or features
• Factory porting in both barrel and slide, which is expensive to have cut aftermarket
• The Beretta APX A1 Ported 10 Round has a factory optic cut, an accessory rail and ambidextrous controls
• Ten-round competition divisions exist in most disciplines regardless of state law
• Full-capacity magazines fit wherever they are permitted

The Beretta APX A1 Ported 10 Round suits a shooter in a capacity-restricted state, a ten-round competition division, or anyone who wants a ported pistol without tracking magazine law. Where full capacity is lawful the fifteen and twenty-one round versions are the same pistol.
