Akkar 206 Coot 12 Gauge Shotgun – Reliable 3.5″ Waterfowl Over/Under in Mossy Oak Terra Camo

Description

The Akkar 206 Coot 12 gauge is a waterfowl gun that stopped pretending to be a field gun. Catalogued as part number 111003, it wears grey Cerakote on every metal surface, a polymer stock finished in Mossy Oak Elements Terra camo, sling studs from the factory and a 3.5-inch chamber, which is exactly the specification list a duck hunter writes when nobody is stopping them.

Built for Water, Mud and Cold on the Akkar 206 Coot 12 Gauge

Marsh hunting destroys guns. Salt spray, freezing rain, mud on the forend and hours in a wet blind will find every unprotected surface on a shotgun. This model answers that with Cerakote over the metal and polymer instead of wood, so there is nothing to rust badly, swell or split. A break action also has an advantage nobody talks about: when the temperature drops and a gas gun starts short-stroking, two independent barrels keep working.

3.5-Inch Chamber and 28-Inch Barrels

The 3.5-inch chamber lets you run the heaviest non-toxic waterfowl payloads on the market, which matters when you are reaching out for late-season birds with steel shot. Barrels measure 28 inches, giving you the swing momentum to stay ahead of a crossing greenhead without becoming unwieldy inside a layout blind. Overall length runs about 45 inches.

Grey Cerakote, Mossy Oak Terra Camo and Sling Studs

Every metal component is coated in a sleek grey Cerakote finish that resists corrosion far better than standard bluing and does not flash sunlight at circling birds. The polymer stock and forend wear Mossy Oak Elements Terra camo, and unlike most guns in this catalogue, sling studs come fitted from the factory, so you can carry it hands-free across a flooded field.

Automatic Ejectors, Automatic Safety and Mechanical Trigger

Automatic ejectors throw hulls clear for quick reloads on a second flight, and the parts to convert them to plain extractors are included if you would rather not lose shells in the water. An automatic safety re-engages every time you open the action, which is a sensible feature in a boat or blind with other hunters. The mechanical trigger fires the second barrel regardless of whether the first shell went off, which matters with cold-soaked ammunition. Five extended choke tubes are included.

Who Should Buy It

This is the right gun for duck and goose hunters who want a double that will survive a season in the marsh, for anyone who has watched a semi-auto freeze up at dawn, and for hunters who like the simplicity of two barrels and two chokes when the birds come in fast and low.

Be realistic about the compromises. Two shots is a real limitation on decoying birds, and reloading a break action with cold hands and gloves is slower than working a pump. Full 3.5-inch waterfowl loads in a break gun produce serious recoil, so most hunters will settle on 3-inch shells for comfort. The camo polymer furniture is purely functional and looks it, and the specialised setup makes this a poor choice for clays or upland work.
